Starting in June, the Noblesville Creates Festival celebrates artists and arts experiences in the six towns along the Nickel Plate Railroad: Fishers, Noblesville, Cicero, Arcadia, Atlanta and Tipton. Sustainable Cicero 2016 Celebration

Tain barrels will be on display until the Lights Over Morse Lake celebration, where they will be auctioned off. During the celebration, the Sustainable Indiana 2016 organization will present the Town of Cicero with the Bicentennial Green Legacy Community award in recognition of the town’s efforts to operate using more sustainable, environmentally friendly practices.

Richard is regarded as one of the best fingerstyle guitarists in the world today. He performs internationally and has been highly-acclaimed everywhere he has performed. He plays many genre of music from bluegrass to jazz, ragtime to classical, and gypsy swing to Chet Atkins and Jerry Reed styles. Adams has recorded in many Nashville studios and has traveled and performed with top music entertainers including Mannheim Steamroller, Muriel Anderson and others. This musical duo has performed several times to large audiences at the Hedgehog, and is considered to be a crowd favorite.

The 8th Annual Gathering of Plein Air Painters (Plein Air Paint Out)

- Hamilton County Artists’ Association and Noblesville Creates present the eighth annual Plein Air Paint Out weekend, when up to about 50 studio-bound artists will take to the streets, roads and fields to practice their hand at plein-air painting in the great outdoors.

- This classic musical stars Jeanette MacDonald, Nelson Eddy and Frank Morgan. A musical comedy duo in their sixth year on Broadway receive an offer to perform in Hollywood making films. The change of lifestyle is inviting to the Sweethearts as the move will take them away from relatives and friends who want to engage them in countless performances. However, when it comes to signing their Hollywood contract, they do not sign as Gwen has been perceived into believing her sweetheart and husband is engaged in an affair with their personal assistant. The Sweethearts split up and carry on performing their musical production around America with their understudies as their co-stars. Eventually they are united in a Broadway show.

Dialogues: Contemporary Responses to Marie Webster Quilts

- During this show, inspired by pioneering American quilt designer Marie Webster, artists from eight Midwestern states will be exhibiting their quilts. The twenty-six quilt makers include 14 from Indiana and Fishers artist Judy Ireland. Visitors will have a rare opportunity to view both an exquisite collection of ground-breaking historical quilts by Marie Webster and contemporary pieces made by artists inspired by her quilts. A panel discussion on June 23 in the DeBoest Lecture Hall at the IMA is free and open to the public, and will be moderated by Gail Gayer Hale, a Bloomington, Ind., textile artist. This year Tipton native artist Jeff Stapleton will be featured and presenting a hands-on program on mosaics. Another new feature will be “Authorama” (10 a.m.-3 p.m.), an author fair celebrating and showcasing Central Indiana authors including Tipton native Kurt Meyer, Indiana Historian Ray Boomhower, ghost hunter Nichole Kobrowski and Tipton-native Janis Thornton. Enjoy all genres of art with the artists who will be on hand to speak to visitors about their work and will have items for sale. Delight in the performances on the live-entertainment stage including a Repurposer’s Fashion Show. Kids will also be entertained at the library with face painters and hands-on art activities. The Tipton Farmer & Artisan Market is also just a half-block away, where many local civic organizations will have food booths to tempt everyone’s taste buds.
