Artist Showcase: Megan Hutchins

Artist Showcase: Megan Hutchins

Have you ever been inspired to create your own original artwork? Megan Hutchins caught the bug, and she’s clearly nailing it.

Wanting to create original pieces to decorate her home, Megan had a blank wall that was begging to be filled with an inspirational piece. When she created a world map out of wood and silver nails, her friends and family were blown away and she was hooked. Megan creates each piece by hand, using her grandfather’s old hammer to place each individual nail. A recent exhibitor at the 2017 Penrod Arts Fair, she enjoys pieces that stand out in a crowd: “I have always enjoyed simple abstract black-and-white art, and I love that this medium takes that look to a different level.”

See Megan’s work in her upcoming Artist Showcase at Noblesville Creates, on display March 1 – 31st. The public is invited to attend an Opening Reception celebrating Megan’s exhibit on Friday, March 2nd from 6-9pm during Noblesville Creates’ First Friday celebration with food, drinks, and live music. Outside of the reception, Megan’s work is viewable to the public during normal gallery hours: Wednesdays – Fridays from noon – 5pm and Saturdays from 10am – 5pm.
