12 Mar Callout: Anderson Museum of Art’s “Figures of Speech”
The Anderson Museum of Art is currently accepting submissions for their upcoming “Figures of Speech” exhibit, happening June 26th – August 17th, 2018. All artists age 18 years or older in the Midwest (IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, MI, MN, MO, ND, NE, OH, SD, & WI) are invited to enter this open competition and exhibit. “Figures of Speech” is focused on giving artists the opportunity to turn all the classic figures of speech into works of art. Examples include “Birds of a feather flock together,” “Jumbo shrimp,” “As wise as an owl,” and many more. Works on paper, paintings, contemporary conceptual photography, mixed media, and sculpture will be accepted.
Digital entries are due no later than Tuesday, May 22nd, 2018. An Artist’s Reception and Awards Presentation will take place on Friday, July 6th, 2018.
