We’re partnering with the City of Fishers and a variety of local community organizations to help plan Spark!Fishers, a new annual event celebration Independence Day and Fishers Pride on Saturday, June 30th. To celebrate and promote our local creative community, Noblesville Creates will host a special one-day-only Spark! Pop-Up Shop from 11am – 7pm during the Spark!Fishers event. We’ll be in a prime traffic spot for event attendees, setting up shop along the front steps of Fishers City Hall. This is a great opportunity to get Fishers residents and beyond acquainted with your work! For more information and artist guidelines for the event, see our full web posting.
Call for Plein Air Painters: The Spark! Fishers planning committee is especially interested in showcasing the creative talents of local artists and invite artists to participate in this day-long inaugural event. Plein air painters are invited to set up their easels during the event to engage arts patrons and promote their work. Then Spark!Fishers event runs from 11am – 7pm, and artists are welcome to paint on-site in that window of time, bringing their own materials to the event. Two Artist Opportunities from the Arts Council of Indianapolis
High Art Outdoor Billboard Project Seeks Entries
For the past five years, High Art has been a public art partnership between the Arts Council of Indianapolis and Fairway Outdoor Advertising. The goal of the High Art program is to bring visual art to all areas of the city while allowing artists to realize their work on a grand scale. The Arts Council of Indianapolis seeks visual artists to submit images for the sixth round of High Art. The project selects up to ten existing or new artworks, prints them on vinyl to fit a 14’ x 48’ billboard, and places them around the community on a rotating basis. For this sixth year, the program is expanding to include additional representation of the selected images on “poster” billboards, which measure 10’-5” x 22’-8”. In September 2018, up to twenty images will be installed and will remain on view for four weeks. Winners will receive cash prizes. Deadline to apply is Friday, June 22, 2018.
