19 Jun Artist Showcase: James Anderson’s “Canyonlands: The Needles”
Who doesn’t yearn for a summer vacation of beautiful scenery and adventure? This July, local travel lovers and arts aficionados are in for a treat as James Anderson offers a trip to the wild, wild west via Noblesville Creates’ Stephenson House gallery. Back for his third Artist Showcase with us, Anderson will exhibit photography from his 2016 travels to Canyonlands National Park in which he and his wife Linda spent 3 weeks in the Utah expanse, snapping photos and exploring, in his words, “the sheer beauty of it all.” “Canyonlands: The Needles” will feature stunning scenery in high-resolution photos-on-canvas, many of which will be for sale.

Anderson often finds himself inspired by nature, and considers himself “a passionate artist who aims to capture God’s beauty through his camera lens.” After retiring from a 35-year career in information technology, he rediscovered his artistic side and has explored his creative skills through a variety of photo projects. Anderson’s abstract photographs of nature were showcased in the Stephenson House in 2015, followed by a second showcase of nature and wildlife photos in 2016. He lives in Greenwood with his wife Linda next to Buffalo Creek, which has found its way into many of his previous photos.

“Canyonlands: The Needles” will be available for viewing from July 5 – 28 in our Stephenson House gallery space. A reception will take place on July 6 from 6-9pm as part of Noblesville Creates’ First Friday programming. Outside of the reception, the exhibit will be open regular gallery hours, Wednesday – Friday from noon – 5pm and Saturday from 10am – 5pm.
