Pop Star Party at Kiln Creations
January 8th

We’ll be transforming our studio into a popstar haven for a day! Come and bop with us to fun music, paint, and make yourself into a pop star at our makeover station! Register now to reserve your spot!

A hairbow or headband for you to customize

One ticket reserves the spot for one painter and a chaperone. Each painter can pick two pieces from our offerings, no substitutions. Chaperones receive 10% off if they choose to paint the day of (discount not applicable to Christmas trees) Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable. Hanging with my Gnomies at Kiln Creations

We will be making these cute little gnomes. We will make them out of wet clay. They will dry for 10 days, at which time you can come back and paint them.
For just $24 you get to make a gnome. If you would like to make more than one gnome, you can buy the second one for $20 that night.
Due to limited seating, everyone needs a $24 reservation to attend. Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferrable.

Paw Print Mug to Benefit Canine Companions at Kiln Creations

$20 per participant
Make a print of your puppers (or feline, or baby goat) For $20, you’ll get a mug with your fur friend paw painted on! Bring you pup for your personal appointment, and we’ll help you paint and press their paw on a mug. For an extra $5, we’ll put your puppy’s name on the mug too! If your puppers can’t handle a visit, that’s ok! Pick up a mug and paint and do yours at home.
All mugs purchased benefit Canine Companions. Learn more about them and their mission here!
Mugs are food safe when finished and ready for pick up in one week. Only one family per appointment time, please, but you can bring as many pups as are in your family at that time. Pick up your finished mug in one week. Each $20 mug raises $8 for CC, and all personalization fees go to them too!

Beginning Weaving 1 – Evening Edition
January 12th-February 9th

Are you a new (or aspiring) weaver who learns best with a teacher to help and to guide you? While YouTube videos are instructive, sometimes knowing the ‘why’ behind an action can lead to greater understanding. In this 5-week class, Jennifer will guide you through the steps to put threads on a loom, and weave a project of either a set of 8 mug rugs (coasters) or a narrow runner. Each 2 1⁄2 hour class will have hands-on instruction, a brief lecture and time to complete the weaving.
This class is appropriate for those with no weaving experience, or for new weavers needing a complete refresher of weaving basics.
Table looms are available for rent from Tabby Tree to facilitate weaving both in studio and at home. ($50/week).
Required book, Deborah Chandler “Learning to Weave” is available through Tabby Tree.
All fiber materials are supplied in the class cost.

Schitt’s Creek Night at Kiln Creations

Create a rainbow snow mug, perfect for your favorite hot beverage! For $30 each, you will receive a large mug and all the tools you need to create a great finished product. We will lead participants step by step to make this mug, designing and painting your ceramic mug with glazes. When you paint pottery with us it takes a quick dip in a hot kiln and is ready in one week for pick up at 60 N 9th st.

True Crime Night at Kiln Creations

Resin Geodes at Kiln Creations

Create a glittering resin dream with us! We will use 12″ wood frames to pour dyed resin into to create a layered, swirled, beautiful design. Add sea glass, glitter stones, or chunky glitter to expand the effect.
This class is suitable for all ages, but parents of 13 or under should plan to stay and help their artist create. These pieces will be ready for pick up two days later.

Scandinavian Folk Art at URBAN VINES
January 18th

Bring the joy and simplicity of Scandinavian folk art into your home. For this sip and paint, we’ll bring a variety of dinner plates and walk you through this folk art pattern.
The background can be matte white or matte black and the decorations can be red, oranges or blue. We’ll bring a few animals to trace, or print out your own ideas and bring them.

Beginning Weaving 2 – Evening Edition
January 18th-February 15th
6 p.m.-8:30 p.m.

$250 per student
Are you color confused? Come learn why red + blue does not equal purple in weaving! For this beginner’s course on color interaction, weavers will create a color gamp to discover the ins and outs of color in weaving. The gamp can become either a set of four napkins or a pair of small hand-towels once off the loom. The first class will be winding a warp and a review of getting a loom dressed. Each 2 ½ hour class will have hands-on instruction or demonstration, a brief lecture and weaving time. In order to complete the gamp, you will need to weave outside of class. All fiber materials are supplied in the class cost.
This class is appropriate for all weavers who have taken Weaving 101 or its equivalent – newer weavers welcome. It’s never too soon to learn more about color!
Table looms are available for rent from Tabby Tree to facilitate weaving both in studio and at home. ($50/week).

Inkle Weaving for Beginners – Evening

In this short class you will learn to weave bands on an inkle loom that can be used for belts, shoelaces, guitar or purse straps, and so much more! You will learn to design your own plain weave bands, put the warp on your loom and then weave away!
You may bring your own inkle loom or borrow one from the shop. Be aware that the workshop is not long enough to complete the project, so purchasing your own inkle loom is strongly recommended.

Peacock Bowls at Kiln Creations

After taking this class with Artful Designs, we just had to offer it! This is THE peacock bowl. You achieve these drippy, trippy looks by using high fire glazes on stoneware clay. We’ll walk you through this step-by-step process and give you the freedom to let your peacock fly!
With your $45 registration you receive:
One hand thrown bowl made out of high fire white stoneware
All of the tools and tips you’ll need to create this look
These will be hand thrown serving bowls measuring 6-6.5” in diameter. They will have natural variations from being handmade. You can pick from two base colors and add any top colors you’d like. When you paint with us, your creation takes a quick dip in a hot kiln. They are ready one week after class.

Rigid Heddle Weaving for Beginners

If you’ve ever thought weaving might be fun but weren’t sure how to get started, consider this beginning class on the rigid heddle loom. You can bring your own loom or borrow one from Tabby Tree. You’ll learn how to plan a simple project, warp the loom and weave a small table mat to take home.
The class is taught by Nancy Comiskey, a journalist and retired member of the Indiana University Media School faculty, where she won four teaching awards. She started weaving four years ago and loves the versatility and portability of the rigid heddle loom.
You’ll get easy-to-follow directions and a bonus handout called, “10 Mistakes I Made That You Don’t Have To.”
Material costs will vary depending on the yarns you choose to use.

We will get familiar with your wheel and drive system, learn what the parts of the wheel actually do while you spin and how to keep your body comfortable while spinning. We will learn about different fiber types and the breeds or plants that provide us with their treasure. We will learn how to spin, ply and finish the skeins of fiber you have created. Finally, we will explore what to do with all that wonderful hand spun you will be producing rather quickly.
