Gal’s Guide Library (10 S. 8th Street, Noblesville, IN 46060- Judge Stone House)
LGBTQ+ Ally Meetup – Our intention for this meetup is for the members of the LGBTQ+ community and their allies to have an open space for dialogue, and support. A place that protects, inspires, and empowers the young and all. Let’s work together to create an amazing meetup. – Oct. 1st – 2 to 4pm.
Journey Writing Workshop – 2022 workshop will focus on the difference between Hero’s Journey & Heroine’s Journey as well as expand on Leah’s Born of Many Mothers (BOMM) writing method. BOMM incorporates visual exercises, mythology writing styles, and feminine energy. Men, women, and non-binary individuals can learn this method to captivate audiences in fiction or nonfiction. Developed by Dr. Leah Leach, founder of the Gal’s Guide Library. In this 12-week course, students will learn this new method but also have the opportunity for publication. Gal’s Guide Anthology is seeking submission for publication in March of 2023. Students will be able to start, hone, and submit completed work to the Gal’s Guide Anthology. – Judge Stone House – 4:30 pm to 6 pm – 10/5 through 12/28
E. Chris Garrison Book Signing – Gal’s Guide is pleased to welcome science fiction author, E. Chris Garrison. Set in a wizard school for the rest of us, Trans Witch is a perfect tale to highlight as Gal’s Guide celebrates everything witches in October! – Oct. 15th – 2 to 4pm – Judge Stone House
Film Club – Leah Leach is our resident movie geek. With a background of working in movie theaters, video stores, and 18 years behind the camera, she’s got a knack for picking an interesting movie to talk about. And we don’t care about the first rule of Fight Club, the first rule of Film Club is: You talk about Film Club. – Oct. 20th – 5:30 to 7pm.
Book Club – Katie Harris has a knack for picking a great book! A leader (and treasured unicorn) of Gal’s Guide Book Club Katie will handpick a book that fits into our research theme for the month. Selections might be fiction, they might be nonfiction. Because of our wide reach, we’re still looking at using Zoom to meet. We are a no-pressure book club, you don’t have to read the full book to participate. You do however have to sign up. – Oct. 27th – 8 to 9pm.

Squirrel 3D Habitat Building – Create a Squirrel Habitat with a variety of 3D options and mediums. – Oct. 1st – 11am to 12pm
Art Explorers for Toddler-PreK – This 30 minute session features exploration of mediums and creativity. Parents will stay with their child supporting them in their work, and clean up as needed. Siblings are welcome to observe but you are only required to pay for each child participating. – Tuesdays 11 to 11:30am.
Teen Art – This class explores a variety of mediums and focuses on building a sketchbook of work. Artists work progressively on their choice of assignments from a list along with setting their own goals and building a body of work. – Tuesdays 4:30 to 5:30pm.
Homeschool Art – Homeschool Art classes are designed for ages 6-12 and incorporate art history, drawing, and exposure to a variety of mediums. THIS CLASS MEETS WEDNESDAYS AT 2PM STARTING SEPT 7TH. Additional group or co-op times are also available. Contact us to specifically schedule a session. – Wednesdays – 2 to 3pm.
After School Art – After school class meets at 4:30 every Wednesday beginning Sept 7th. This class is designed for ages 6-12. Students will learn a variety of techniques using different mediums, completing a project most class days. Drawing and Art History are also incorporated in to the lessons of this class. – Wednesdays 4:30 to 5:30pm.
Drawing Class – Supplies are provided and students will learn a variety of drawing techniques as well as complete and work on a sketch book and final drawing projects as as well. This class is for ages 6-14 – Fridays 11 to noon.

Pumpkinpalooza – There’s no gourd we love more than a pumpkin! We are having a pumpkin party and we want to see you! Come paint with us and explore the specialty paints we offer. With your $40 ticket, you get any in stock medium sized pumpkin from $35-45 and a FREE Party Pal Pumpkin (A $12 value!!) Our goal is to paint with specialty glazes so come ready to explore! – Oct. 1st, 6 to 8pm.
Rocky Horror Picture Show Night – Is it a drama? A musical? A B-list horror movie? A moving film about personal identity in this crazy, mixed-up galaxy? YES! Join us to paint something from your favorite movie about self-discovery, have a few treats, and sing the Time Warp! This is a special event with limited seating, so everyone needs a $10 ticket. Your $10 reserves your seat and gets you all access to our tools, tips and tricks for great pottery, and access to our Rocky Horror themed snack bar! You pay for the pottery you paint the night of. – Oct. 7th – 6 to 8pm.
Tree-mendous Retro Ceramic Tree Painting with Noble Coffee – It’s a pine time to get in the Christmas spirit and what better way than to paint a retro ceramic Christmas tree? Decorate your very own vintage tree with Kiln Creations while sipping on your favorite drinks from Noble Coffee. This is an all ages sip and paint! – Oct. 7th – 6 to 8pm.
Handbuilt Witch’s Cottage – Build with clay and learn new techniques in this fun first ever event. We’ll use about 2 lbs of clay to build this adorable witch’s cottage. Equip yours with eye of newt, an everlasting worm, or another familiar! – Oct. 8th – 6 to 8pm.
Peacock Class – Join us for an all-out Peacock Paradiso! We’ll be painting all things peacock! These pieces are high fire legacy ceramic pieces that will last a lifetime. Choose a bowl, mug, or vase! – Oct. 9th, 4 to 6pm.
Peacock Mugs – Our love for peacock bowls can only be eclipsed by our excitement for peacock mugs! We are crafting some giant stoneware mugs so we can make big swooping peacock eyes on them. After taking this class with Artful Designs, we just had to offer it! You achieve these drippy, trippy looks by using high fire glazes on stoneware clay. We’ll walk you through this step-by-step process and give you the freedom to let your peacock fly! – Oct. 14th – 6 to 7:30pm.
Stranger Things Night – So join us and paint a demogorgen, debate conspiracies theories from the 80’s, and try to crack the portal to the Upside Down! This is a special event, so everyone needs a ticket. Pay for the pottery you pick the night of. When you paint with us, your pottery takes a quick dip in a hot kiln, pick up is in one week. – Oct. 21st – 6 to 8pm.
Handmade Bowl and Plate Class – This is a brand-new class for us. We will make a bowl on the wheel and make a hand-built plate out of clay. Then you can come back to paint with us when they are kilned. Get time throwing clay and learn how to hand build in one messy class. – Oct. 23rd – 4 to 5:30pm.
Crime and Crafting – We are hosting a true crime event you won’t want to miss. Join us to craft a perfect alibi and paint a fun piece! WE HAVE NEW SILKSCREENS TO HELP YOU!! Put “I’m only here to establish an alibi!” on your wine glass with no trouble! – Oct. 28th – 6 to 8pm.
Family Christmas Tree Painting Party – Share some unique time with the family and create a one-of-a-kind holiday keepsake. These Lighted Christmas Trees will last forever and will be passed on for generations to come. We have many styles available at different price points. You’ll just pay your seat fee as a deposit that will come off your total the night of. Your ticket is for a table reservation that fits 4 people. You can paint one piece per table or four or MORE! We will be enjoying treats and giving out prizes all night, so join us! – Oct. 29th – 6 to 8pm.
Turkey Handprint Day – Join us Sunday October 30th all day for Turkey Handprints! We’ll get your print and paint them for you. These are ready for pick up in 14 days. It takes about 5 minutes for you to make a lifetime keepsake! Purchase one for $18 or get 4 for $54 (multiples do not have to be the same person/ hand!) – Oct. 30th – various times.

Tabby Tree Weaver (9832 North by Northeast Blvd., Fishers, IN 46037)
Warps Gone Wild! – Being a good weaver does not mean you never make mistakes – it means you know how to fix mistakes when they happen. If you have ever felt like throwing your loom right out of the window, then this class is for you. You will learn how to avoid common weaving pitfalls, and how to fix those same problems when they inevitably do happen. Messed up tension, broken/missing threads, threading errors, excessive draw-in, unwanted warp or weft floats, UGH! These things happen to all of us. In this class, the looms will be pre-dressed with warps that have all sorts of crazy problems, and then you will learn how to fix it! There is no need to have your own loom for this class. – Oct. 1st – 9:30am to 3pm.
Beginning Weaving 2 – This class is designed as a second step for beginning weavers on 4 or 8 shaft looms. It is a complete review of the process of dressing a loom, and we will have a special focus on patterns and color! We will weave 10-color gamps in various weave structures to enhance your understanding of color interactions in weaving. The result will be a set of 4 napkins, or a long table runner. – Oct. 13th – 10:30am.
Beginning Weaving 2 – Are you color confused? Come learn why red + blue does not equal purple in weaving! For this beginner’s course on color interaction, weavers will create a color gamp to discover the ins and outs of color in weaving. The gamp can become either a set of four napkins or a pair of small hand-towels once off the loom. – Oct. 25th – 6 to 8:30pm.
Table Weaving for Beginners – In this class you will learn to use an inkle loom and tablets to weave simple designs. With the same threading, you will be able to weave pattern variations depending on how you turn the tablets. It is fun to experiment and see what new patterns you can create! – Oct. 29th – 10am to 3:30pm.
Regular Choir Rehearsal – Visit us at a rehearsal – visitors are welcome at any time. This group of women loves to sing so much that we refused to let a pandemic stop us! Rehearsals have started for the musical classic “The Sound of Music” – opening in November.

Noblesville Preservation Alliance
Live Radio Broadcast of “War of the Worlds” – In October of 1938, Orson Wells and the Mercury Theatre of the Air presented a broadcast that would prove to be one of the most memorable events in radio history; The War of the Worlds. While presented as a radio play, many people thought it was a real news broadcast and wide-spread panic ensued. While many people were upset when they found out the truth, this broadcast showed the power of radio at that time. On October 7th, the Noblesville Preservation Alliance will present a re-creation of that broadcast live on stage at Preservation Hall in Noblesville. A cast of 10+ people will be needed for the performance and auditions will be open to the public, beginning August 15th. Murder in Noblesville: A Music Review – Mark your calendars! October 29, 2022, 7:00 pm, the Noblesville Preservation Alliance will host a musical night of murder and mayhem at Preservation Hall, 1274 Logan St., Noblesville. Join us for an evening of murder ballads and ghostly songs to celebrate Halloween. Come in costume and make it a real party! Performers will include John Gilmore, Gary Wasson, Molly Milton, Kelli Ray Yates, Jamie Dumas, Mike Stewart, Zoe Majors and Steve VandeWater. There may even be some surprise guests! Soft drinks will be available for purchase, or you may bring your own libations. Come on out and support local music in a great listening room setting. Tickets are $10 at the door or may be purchased below in advance. – Oct. 29th – 7pm.
Improbable Fiction Theatre Company
Improbable Fiction presents Willam Shakespeare’s “Merry Wives of Windsor” for Indy Bardfest – According to legend, Queen Elizabeth so loved the character of Falstaff from Henry IV, that she commanded Shakespeare to write another play with him. Shakespeare happily obliged and the result is this silly, zany, romp through the small town of Windsor. The play is notable for it shows common middle class people and no royalty. The play is filled with outlandish characters that are hilarious. The show is just plain fun and has delighted audiences for over 400 years – Oct. 22nd through Oct. 30th.
October is Disability Employment Awareness Month.
Hyperion Players presents Neil Simon’s “Barefoot in the Park” – Paul and Corie Bratter are newlyweds in every sense of the word. After a six day honeymoon, they get a surprise visit from Corie’s loopy mother and decide to play matchmaker during a dinner with their neighbor-in-the-attic Velasco, where everything that can go wrong does. – Oct. 6th through Oct. 8th – 7:30pm.
