Nativities of the World - Following the Star
The Nativity tells the story of the first Christmas, the birth of Jesus Christ in a stable manger and the arrival of the gift-bearing Three Wise Men. Just as there are many different faiths, people bring their own perspective to the faith of Christianity. The nativities on display in Room 3 reflect the artists and cultures that create them. Through the repetition of icons, symbols and characters, the differences in how these nativities are constructed illustrates the beauty of differences in even a shared practice.
