Description: In this 2-hour class, we will create earrings using decorative, repurposed tin and silver. Students will learn the names, purposes, and uses of common jewelry-making tools. You’ll gain an understanding of the numeric systems for sandpaper grit and wire gauge, and why different types are used for various techniques. Additionally, you will learn cutting, smoothing, and silver wire work, as well as how to construct a pair of shepherd's hook components to hang your new earrings. All class materials are provided, and tools and gloves are supplied.

Artist Bio:
April Adams: Jewelry Designer / Artist
Always fascinated by jewelry as an art form, she reached out to a bench jeweler friend in 2001 to ask if she could observe and participate in an informal apprenticeship. During this experience, she gained invaluable insights and techniques that helped her hone her skills and discover the intricacies of the craft.
In 2016, she launched her business, April Adams Jewelry Design and Repair. She finds immense joy in seeing someone wear a piece of her work; it is a tangible expression of her creativity through the artistry of jewelry.
She was recognized at the 82nd annual Indianapolis Art Center for her necklace made of moss agate and sterling silver. Additionally, she served as a demonstration artist at the Noblesville Creates annual gala in both 2021 and 2023. In 2024, she taught jewelry-making classes at Ignite Studio in Fishers, Indiana. She has also donated pieces to the silent auctions at Noblesville Creates and a Hamilton County fundraising event.
