19 Jul James Anderson August 2019 Exhibit: Vermilion Cliffs – A View from the Cliffs of the Southwest
Living in Indiana certainly has its advantages: beautiful birds, covered bridges, picturesque sunsets and wonderful people that make our state a great place to call home.
As a juxtaposition to the “My Indiana Home” exhibit that will take shape in the Judge Stone House gallery in August, James Anderson presents “Vermillion Cliffs” as his Artist Showcase next door in the Stephenson House gallery.
Anderson is a proud Hoosier, as well as an acclaimed photographer, author, artist and long-time Noblesville Creates supporter. This August 2-31, he invites us to behold other parts of our great country. “Vermilion Cliffs – A View from the Cliffs of the Southwest” will delight patrons with its rich colors and beautiful perspectives of the American Southwest captured through Anderson’s expert lens.
The artist has a home situated on the banks of Buffalo Creek, and says that “while God has taken me to cityscapes, landscapes, quiet nature scenes, flowers, people and animals everywhere, my favorite of His creations are the natural abstracts I find in Buffalo Creek.”
Jim is a veteran of the Noblesville Creates community, and the August Artist Showcase marks his fourth as an artist member in our Stephenson House gallery.
“Noblesville Creates has helped me tremendously in my career by providing a venue to display my artwork,” he says. Anderson often finds himself inspired by nature. He calls himself “a passionate artist who aims to capture God’s beauty through his camera lens.”
Anderson’s previous Noblesville Creates showcases included abstracts, animal antics and The Needles, featuring southern views of Canyonlands National Park. His exhibition “Abstracts” adorned the walls of Fishers City Hall in June 2019.
Art aficionados will enjoy perusing James’ work while sampling refreshments, drinks, live music, and more during August’s First Friday celebration on August 2 from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. After First Friday, the exhibit will be open to the public during our normal gallery hours.
