29 Aug College Prep Series
Join us for this 3-part series on preparing for college presented by Mrs. Karen Bush. Each session will focus on the different topics of preparing for, applying for, and financing higher education.
For teens in grades 6-12 and their adults. Registration required.
Mrs. Karen Bush is currently the Director of College & Career Counseling for Hamilton Southeastern High School, where she oversees postsecondary outcomes for over 3500 students.
Before working at HSE, Karen was the Associate Director of the College Board for the Midwest Region for the last 4 years. Prior to this she worked as the College and Career Resource Center Director and the District Graduation Coach for the Metropolitan School District of Pike Township for 9 years. With over 20+ years of experience in higher education, college access and business marketing, Karen is also the VP of Education at GBKB Consulting where she works with students, parents and community-based organizations to navigate the college admission process.
Before working at Pike, Karen was the Community Alliance Manager for the Indiana Commission on Higher Education and Learn More Indiana where she led statewide college access and success campaigns for the Commission and formed partnerships with local and state organizations to further assist low-income, first-generation students prepare for college success.
Karen holds a Masters in Higher Education and Administration, and also a Masters in General Management with a minor in Education/Training. She also has her bachelors in marketing and business communication. Karen is currently pursuing her Certification in College Counseling from UCLA. Karen was also just recently voted to be the President-Elect for Indianas Association of College Admissions Counselors.
Karen is a dedicated wife and mother of two boys ages 20 and 18. She is also an active member of the New Horizons Church and a member of her sorority Delta Sigma Theta.
