SongWriter Series: Local-Live-Original

SongWriter Series: Local-Live-Original

The revival of the SongWriters Series: Local-Live-Original at Noblesville Creates was a huge success and we are excited to announce the rest of the 2024 Series!  Locally started by John Gilmore, these songwriter events are a chance for local musicians to not only play their original songs but also share with the audience the story and inspiration behind the music.

Each SongWriter event will take place from 7 to 8:30 pm, with the doors opening at 6:30pm.  If the weather is nice, we will look to have the event outside to fit more people.  Located at Noblesville Creates on 8th (107 S. 8th St., Noblesville, IN), free ample parking is available after 5pm on Maple Avenue, city street parking, the Purple Lot south of our campus, and for 4 hours at the Levinson Garage.  A suggested donation of $10 to attend goes toward paying the musicians and the staff that run the event.  Alcohol and non-alcoholic beverages will be for sale.

May Musicians

Since 1991, Tay Bronson has been active in pursuing his musical aspirations. With Push Down & Turn—the alternative rock group that achieved national and international acclaim with Bronson as bassist and primary songwriter. He has qualified as a finalist in two national songwriting competitions and has traveled to Cody, WY, Red Lodge, MT, and Big Stone Gap, VA to participate in those songwriting competition finals. Bronson’s debut single from his first solo release in 2020 was featured on ‘Americana Highways’. “In a hot red 1961 Thunderbird, Tay Bronson sings a timeless song of love, loss, and an abiding sense that nothing is ever really over. This song is for all of us who’ve ended it but wanted to leave the door open a crack, just in case. Listen to the album all the way through and savor Tay Bronson’s appealing songsmanship.” Since the release of the album, Bronson has performed with National Artists such as Susan Gibson, Shawn Mullins, Chris Trapper, and Brian Dunne.

Noblesville’s Steve VandeWater enjoys performing his quirky ballads for anyone who will listen. His songwriting has been described as “unique”, “clever” and “something from another time”. Humor-laden lyrics and unusual subject matter hold listeners’ attention, and his 4 string tenor guitar always piques curiosity. And no, it’s not a ukulele!

Zoe Majors is a singer-songwriter based out of Carmel, Indiana. Drawing inspiration from songwriters like Hozier and John Mayer, her storytelling encompasses romantic and platonic heartbreak, the trials and tribulations of human existence, and sometimes some murderous endeavors. While her songs lean toward the melancholy, her lyrics are filled with relatable anecdotes of what it means to be alive.
