Bird Walks with Jeff Canada
Hosted by Noblesville Parks and Recreation
April 6th & 20th – 8 a.m.-10 a.m. – $5 per participant – Hague Road Nature Haven
Bird Walks are back! Join us for our Bird Walks right here in Noblesville – no experience needed!
Individuals and families are welcome and minors must be accompanied by an adult. Bring your own equipment (binoculars) and dress for the weather.
Bird Walks guided by Mr. Jeff Canada who is an experienced birder (former President and Board Member of the Audubon Society) and a local small business owner.

Auditions for the Belfry Theatre’s “Drinking Habits”
April 24th and 25th – Starting at 7 p.m. – 10690 Greenfield Ave in Noblesville
“Drinking Habits,” a comedy, directed by Nancy Lafferty, will be June 24-July 3, at The Ivy Tech Auditorium at Ivy Tech Hamilton County, 300 N. 17th St., Noblesville.
In this hilarious comedy, two sisters of Perpetual Sewing have been secretly making wine to keep the convent’s doors open, but Paul and Sally, reporters and former fiancees, are hot on their trail as they go undercover as a nun and priest. Accusations, mistaken identities and romances run wild in this laugh-out-loud farce where spirits and secrets are spilled.

The Improbable Fiction Theatre Company Proudly Presents: The House on Pooh Corner

This gentle children’s comedy presents the Winnie-the-Pooh characters you know and love as they face their greatest challenge yet – Education! Christopher Robin turns to his friends Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore, Tigger, and the rest when he finds out that he’s to be sent away to school. They can’t bear to be separated, so they come up with a bold plan to run away to the South Pole. The hilarious antics as the group tries to organize in time to save Christopher Robin from his dire fate will delight audience members of all ages!
Evening Performances are April 15th, 16th, 22nd, & 23rd at 7:30 p.m.
Matinee Performances April 16th, 23rd, and 24th at 2:00 p.m.

Unicorn Meet and Paint
Forest Park Lodge, Sunday April 24th from 12 to 4 p.m.
Kiln Creation announced their Third Annual Unicorn Extravanaga with a Live UNICORN!

We will be running art programming for your littles every day through the summer! Traditional Camp runs Monday- Friday from 10-noon. Clayworks Camp runs Monday- Friday 1p-3p. You can find the listing for Clayworks here!

The themes for each week are listed below, and in every camp the campers will work with clay, resin, ceramics, wood signs and canvas!! Inkle Weaving for Beginners
April 6th, 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m., $75
In this short class you will learn to weave bands on an inkle loom that can be used for belts, shoelaces, guitar or purse straps, and so much more! You will learn to design your own plain weave bands, put the warp on your loom and then weave away!
You may bring your own inkle loom or borrow one from the shop. Be aware that the workshop is not long enough to complete the project, so purchasing your own inkle loom is strongly recommended.
Materials are included in the cost of the class.
Creative Tapestry Wall Hanging
April 9th, 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m., Attend $65 (additional costs if need a Loom)
Learn the basics of weaving on a simple frame loom in this class for beginners. We’ll cover loom set-up (warping), basic weaving techniques, achieving varied textures and how to finish and display your work as you create a woven wall-hanging.
This class is suitable for teens and adults.
Spinning with a Drop Spindle
April 14th, 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m., $55
Welcome to the wonderful world and ancient craft of spindle spinning! What was once the tool used to create the fabric for the sails of Viking longships can be the beginning point of your next knitted or woven project. We will start with a top whorl drop spindle, and there will also be a demonstration on the bottom whorl, Turkish and takhli supported spindle spinning. Students may try any or all of these tools and techniques. A 4oz ball of wool is included in the class price, and spindles are available to borrow if you don’t have your own.
Rigid Heddle Weaving for Beginners
April 16th and 26th, 10:00 a.m.-4 p.m., $100 plus $20 for materials
If you’ve ever thought weaving might be fun but weren’t sure how to get started, consider this beginning class on the rigid heddle loom. You can bring your own loom or borrow one from Tabby Tree. You’ll learn how to plan a simple project, warp the loom and weave a small table mat to take home.
Materials will cost $20 to be paid on the day of the class.

Arts Midwest GIG Fund for Nonprofit Organizations
WHAT: The GIG Fund is a flexible grant of $2,500 that helps organizations bring professional artists into their community. WHEN: Applications are due April 12, 2022, and funded projects must occur between July – December 2022. WHERE: Nonprofit organizations, tribal communities, and local governments located in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, or Wisconsin and the Native nations that share this geography can apply. WHO: This funding is available to organizations looking to present two highly engaging activities featuring a professional artist.
