We will discuss the right technique for the right project. Join me as we work on this next step in our spinning journey. – Mar. 4 – 12:30 to 3:30pm.
Tabby Tree Weaver: Using Fiberworks Weaving Software – This class is an introduction to Fiberworks Software. The first goal is to be sure the participants have the basics to begin using the program – entering a draft, experimenting with color, and getting a ‘visual’ of the expected cloth. The class will also go over the features of Fiberworks beyond the basic ones. The amount of time spent on the basic vs the advanced features will depend on the previous experience of the students. Prior to the class, participants will be sent a survey to collect information on Fiberworks experience. – Mar. 11 – 10am to 2pm.
Tabby Tree Weaver: Inkle Weaving for Beginners – In this short class you will learn to weave bands on an inkle loom that can be used for belts, shoelaces, guitar or purse straps, and so much more! Tabby Tree Weaver: Beginning Weaving I Evening Edition – Are you a new (or aspiring) weaver who learns best with a teacher to help and to guide you? While YouTube videos are instructive, sometimes knowing the ‘why’ behind an action can lead to greater understanding. In this 5-week class, Jennifer will guide you through the steps to put threads on a loom, and weave a project of either a set of 8 mug rugs (coasters) or a narrow runner. Each 2 1⁄2 hour class will have hands-on instruction, a brief lecture and time to complete the weaving. – Mar. 23 – 6 to 8:30pm.
