The Belfry Theatre

Auditions for “How the Other Half Loves” – How to Prepare: Those auditioning should be familiar with the play concept (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/How_the_Other_Half_Loves) and prepared to read excerpts from the script. Plan to arrive early to fill out an audition form. Please bring a headshot if you have one and a theatrical resume. Additionally, bring your calendar and provide a complete list of conflicts through October 1st, 2023. – Aug. 6th 4 to 6pm & Aug. 7th 7 to 9pm.  The show runs Sept. 22nd-Oct. 1st at the Theater at the Fort.

Fishers Arts Council

Second Friday – Fishers Arts Council Presents: Color Coordinates by Jerry Mannell – This free reception is open to the public and all ages are welcome.  Meet the artist, enjoy their works, and partake of light refreshments.  – FAC Hub Gallery at the Collaboration Hub 11810 Technology Dr., Fishers, IN 46038 – Aug. 11 – 6 to 8 pm.

This Month’s Theme: Aviation Gals

Back to Nature – Join Gal’s Guide for a calming and peaceful day with guided activities that are in tune with nature. Experience a mediation that connects you with the ground that holds all of us. Spend time forest bathing and learning about identifying trees by their leaves. Observe and bird watch in the environment. Watch or participate in a Buddhist meditation of the Dakini Family. Finish the day with a meal that focuses the mind on the One Taste and appreciation for the foods of this Earth. Registration required/lunch included. – Aug. 12th – 10am to 2pm. 

Book Signing with Jessica Pearson – Gal’s Guide is pleased to be host to local author Jessica Pearson! Visit the library and get your signed copy of Jessica’s new memoir! – Aug. 19th – 2 to 4pm. 

LGBTQ+ Ally Meetup – Our intention for this meetup is for the members of the LGBTQ+ community and their allies to have an open space for dialogue, and support. A place that protects, inspires, and empowers the young and all. Let’s work together to create an amazing meetup. – Aug. 5th,  2 to 4pm.

Walking Club – The starting point for the walk is the front porch of Noblesville Creates, 107 S. 8th Street, Noblesville. Bring water, suntan lotion, and rain gear. The Gal’s Guide walking club is open to all fitness levels. – Aug. 12th, 9am. 

Film Club – Leah Leach is our resident movie geek. With a background of working in movie theaters, video stores, and 18 years behind the camera, she’s got a knack for picking an interesting movie to talk about. And we don’t care about the first rule of Fight Club, the first rule of Film Club is: You talk about Film Club. – Aug.17th, 5:30 to 7pm.

Book Club – Katie Harris has a knack for picking a great book! A leader (and treasured unicorn) of Gal’s Guide Book Club Katie will handpick a book that fits into our research theme for the month. Selections might be fiction, they might be nonfiction. Because of our wide reach, we’re still looking at using Zoom to meet. We are a no-pressure book club, you don’t have to read the full book to participate. You do however have to sign up. – Aug. 31st, 8 to 9pm.

Noblesville Main Street

Music & All That Jazz – Gordon Insurance Partners sponsor the 2023 Music & All That Jazz series in Historic Downtown Noblesville.  Bring your lawn chair to courthouse square for a delightful evening of music in a beautiful downtown setting.  Make it a full evening with shopping and dining in our unique shops and restaurants around the Square. August features music from the David Hartman Trio. –  Aug. 12th – 5 to 9pm.

Salsa on the Square – Join us for the 3rd annual Salsa on the Square! We’ll be closing off Logan Street between 9th and 10th (between Noble Coffee & Primeval Brewing), offering live music, dance instruction, and a night of dancing in the street! Food trucks and a beer and cocktail garden will be a part of the festivities! This is a 21+ event. You will be required to show ID in order to enter. – Aug. 4th – 5 to 11pm.

Farmers’ Market – We are proud of our diverse and unique vendor base. All market vendors produce the products they sell! From honey, to fresh meat, to flowers, to candles, the Noblesville Farmers Market has something for everyone! – Aug. 5th, 12th (Kids Day), 19th, & 26th – 8am to 12pm.

Front Porch Music Fest

Front Porch Music Fest – 19 bands, 12 porches, local food and beer vendors! – Logan Street, between 10th and 14th Streets, in Noblesville – Aug. 26th, 2 to 6:30pm.

Color Me Happy Fiber Arts Studio

Open Studios – Come visit us on Sunday afternoons and Monday evenings in August.  We have Open Studio hours every Sunday (Noon to 4pm, except Father’s Day) and Monday (4pm-7pm). Stop by and visit, see what we have in the dye pots, shop (our yarn and our de-stash wall), and work on projects with fiber friends. – Aug. 6th, 12 to 4 pm. 

Pop Up Shop at Shabby Sheep & Ewe – We are delighted to come visit and hope to see you there!  We will be featuring a new yarn (Organic Merino Sport!), as well as our “old” favorites. – Aug. 5th – 11am to 5pm.

Noblesville Creates Second Saturday – Come learn more about natural dyeing and other fiber arts.  There will be demonstrations and hands-on activities. – Aug. 12th – 10am to 5pm.

Hyperion Players

Auditions for “Waiting for Godot” – How to Prepare: Auditions will consist of readings from the script. Actors should be familiar with the script and bring a complete list of conflicts from August 2nd through October 1st. – July 31st & Aug. 1st – 7pm. The show runs Sept. 28th-Oct. 1st at the Switch Theatre.  

Caravan Classes

Watercolor Basics for Adults – Learn basic watercolor techniques while exploring components, and types of watercolor mediums. Leave with several practice pieces along with a finished work or 2. – Aug. 6th – 6:30pm.

White River Sound

Regular Choir Rehearsal – Visit us at a rehearsal – visitors are welcome at any time. This group of women loves to sing so much that we refused to let a pandemic stop us! We meet each week to sing together to learn new songs and perfect them for performance. – Ivy Tech Lawrence Auditorium 9301 E. 59th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46216 – Tuesdays- 7 to 9pm.

Improbable Fiction Theatre Company

Rehearsals start for “As You Like It” – William Shakespeare’s romantic comedy classic will be presented by a roving troupe of Commedia dell’Arte performers such as Harlequin and Pulcinella.  The show runs October 6th-15 at Mud Creek Players.  

Hamilton County Artists’ Association

Hamilton County Artists’ Associations’ August Exhibit- “Open Lens”.  The opening reception is August 6th from 6 to 8pm. The Birdie Gallery is open on First Fridays and most Saturdays.  

Art Fair on the Square – The Hamilton County Artists’ Association invites you to join us for this year’s Art Fair on the Square! This fine art event will take place on Noblesville’s historic downtown square amidst live entertainment and family fun! – Aug. 5th – 9am to 5pm.  

Vintage Adventures

Vintage Adventures will be at HCCA’s Art Fair on the Square on Aug. 5th from 9am to 5pm.
