Fishers Arts Council

Second Friday – Fishers Arts Council Presents: By Train Light: Travels of Shelley Feeney. Reception at the Collaboration Hub at Hamilton County Community Foundation on Friday, November 11th from 6-8p. This free reception is open to the public. Meet Fishers Artist and Fall Creek Junior High Art Department Chair, Shelley Feeney, enjoy her works, and partake of light refreshments and a cash wine bar. – Art Gallery at the Collaboration Hub 11810 Technology Dr., Fishers, IN 46038 – Nov. 11th – 6 to 8pm.

This Month’s Theme: Sci-Fi Gals

LGBTQ+ Ally Meetup – Our intention for this meetup is for the members of the LGBTQ+ community and their allies to have an open space for dialogue, and support. A place that protects, inspires, and empowers the young and all. Let’s work together to create an amazing meetup. – Nov. 5th – 2 to 4pm.

Walking Club – The starting point for the walk is the front porch of Noblesville Creates, 107 S. 8th Street, Noblesville. Bring water, suntan lotion, and rain gear. The Gal’s Guide walking club is open to all fitness levels. – Nov. 12th, 9am. 

Film Club – Leah Leach is our resident movie geek. With a background of working in movie theaters, video stores, and 18 years behind the camera, she’s got a knack for picking an interesting movie to talk about. And we don’t care about the first rule of Fight Club, the first rule of Film Club is: You talk about Film Club. – Nov. 17th – 5:30 to 7pm.

Book Club – Katie Harris has a knack for picking a great book! A leader (and treasured unicorn) of Gal’s Guide Book Club Katie will handpick a book that fits into our research theme for the month. Selections might be fiction, they might be nonfiction. Because of our wide reach, we’re still looking at using Zoom to meet. We are a no-pressure book club, you don’t have to read the full book to participate. You do however have to sign up. – Nov. 26th – 8 to 9pm.

Caravan Classes (92 S. 9th St., Noblesville, IN 46060)

Art Explorers for Toddler-PreK – This 30 minute session features exploration of mediums and creativity. Parents will stay with their child supporting them in their work, and clean up as needed. Siblings are welcome to observe but you are only required to pay for each child participating. – Tuesdays 11 to 11:30am. 

Teen Art – This class explores a variety of mediums and focuses on building a sketchbook of work. Artists work progressively on their choice of assignments from a list along with setting their own goals and building a body of work. – Tuesdays 4:30 to 5:30pm.

Homeschool Art – Homeschool Art classes are designed for ages 6-12 and incorporate art history, drawing, and exposure to a variety of mediums. THIS CLASS MEETS WEDNESDAYS AT 2PM STARTING SEPT 7TH. Additional group or co-op times are also available. Contact us to specifically schedule a session. – Wednesdays  – 2 to 3pm.

After School Art – After school class meets at 4:30 every Wednesday beginning Sept 7th. This class is designed for ages 6-12. Students will learn a variety of techniques using different mediums, completing a project most class days. Drawing and Art History are also incorporated in to the lessons of this class. – Wednesdays 4:30 to 5:30pm.

Drawing Class – Supplies are provided and students will learn a variety of drawing techniques as well as complete and work on a sketch book and final drawing projects as as well. This class is for ages 6-14 – Fridays 11 to noon.

Kiln Creations (60 North 9th Street, Noblesville, IN 46060)

Christmas Gnome Painting – There’s Gnome place like Noble Coffee for a great drink and fun events! We’re packing up shop and popping up at Noble Coffee with gnomes, paint, and merriment. For your $55 ticket, you’ll receive TWO gnomes to paint, 2 free drinks, and all the paint and instruction you’ll need to get the job done! But wait, there’s Myrrh! BOTH of these gnomes will come with lights and light kits so you can light up the long winter nights. – Nov. 4th – Noble Coffee – 6 to 8pm.

Sanderson Sisters Meet & Paint – Join us for a fun evening of bewitching tales, bewildering spells, and great painting projects. All while we get to know the real Winifred, Mary and Sarah, and hear them tell the facts from their perspective. Your $15 ticket gets you: Access to this great event with real live witches Winifred, Mary and Sarah. Access to our snack bar with lady fingers, eyeball cookies, and hocus pocus punch. Help in creating your very own book of spells. – Nov. 5th – 6 to 8pm.

Hand Print Ornaments – Join us for this festive holiday activity. Choose whether to do feet, hands or both and what design you would like! You can reserve a spot for just one handprint in any design at $18, or supply all of your Christmas presents with holiday prints by buying 5 prints for $72. We will finish the painting for you, so in three weeks, you pick up a finished product! – Nov. 6th, 12th, & 13th – Various Times. 

Clay Christmas Trees – Join us to create unique Christmas trees out of wet clay! Create either look in a 6 inch or 12 inch tree. Scalloped tree: Evoke a beachy theme with a scalloped edge tree that looks like stacked seashells. Ribbon Tree: From ribbon candy to ribbon on gifts, what is more indicative of the holidays than a ribbon tree? – Nov. 6th – 5 to 7pm.

Kid’s Gift Workshop – This is a new event for us! Sign your kiddos up to make 2 ceramic gifts for their family or friends and enjoy a night out for yourself! For $40, drop your kiddos off so they can: Enjoy some pizza and holiday treats, Make a functional piece, like a bowl, plate or mug, & Make a decorative piece like a gnome, cat, or dog. We will help them make lovely pieces. Parents should plan to drop off just in case they want to make it for you! This event is for kiddos 8 years old and up. Before the event, talk through what your kiddo might like to make and for whom. Please also consider writing down the name of the intended gift receiver so we can help personalize any pieces. – Nov. 11th – 5 to 7pm.

Hamilton Pottery Painting Night – We will be singing along to the best musical spectacle about our favorite founding father: Alexander Hamilton. Be prepared to revel in the genius of the fast paced lyrics while we paint our story. This is a special event so every attendee needs a ticket. – Nov. 12th – 6 to 8pm.

Snow Sisters Meet & Paint – Snow and Ice and Fairy Tales, oh my! We are hosting the Snow Sisters while they are in town, and they want to party with you! Join us for this family-friendly event. For your $40 ticket, you and one other friend will get the following: 2 Snowflake ornaments, 1 Princess Figurine, A frozen themed treat. Anna and Elsa will join us for this exciting evening, and they will host a sing along and help us paint! – Nov. 19th – 6 to 8pm

Beginning Spinning on a Wheel – Have you been wanting to try spinning, but never had the chance? Now is the time! Nelly will help you with the first steps in what may become the journey of a lifetime. Spinning is a productive hobby, but is also a very meditative and soothing experience. It is a way to connect to the raw materials of our very lives, the fibers that make the clothes we wear and use every day. We will get you started spinning on a modern wheel, and will discuss and experience some of the common fibers textile artists (as in, anyone who creates handmade textiles) use most. Don’t miss this opportunity to try your hand at spinning! – November 12th – 12:30 to 3:30pm.

White River Sound

Regular Choir Rehearsal – Visit us at a rehearsal – visitors are welcome at any time. This group of women loves to sing so much that we refused to let a pandemic stop us! We meet each week to sing together to learn new songs and perfect them for performance. – Ivy Tech Lawrence Auditorium 9301 E. 59th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46216 – Nov. 1st, 8th, 15th, & 29th – 7 to 9pm.

White River Sound Chorus presents Magicality: a Cabaret style afternoon of Music and Magic for the whole family featuring Magician Taylor Martin and the White River Sound Chorus –  Nov. 20th at 3pm. –  Ritz Charles 12156 N. The Belfry Theatre

Belfry Presents: “The Sound of Music” – “The Sound of Music” is based on the real life story of the Von Trapp Family singers, one of the world’s best-known concert groups in the post-World War II era. Maria, a kind and curious postulant at an Austrian abbey, becomes a governess in the home of a widowed naval captain with seven children. Through her love of music, she breathes new life into the home. – Ivy Tech Auditorium in Noblesville – Nov. 25th through Dec. 4th – Fridays & Saturdays 8pm, Saturdays and Sundays 2pm.
