Stephenson Showcase: Think Spring!

Stephenson Showcase: Think Spring!

The Hamilton County Invasives Project (HIP) and Hamilton County Tourism (HCT) have teamed up with Noblesville Creates to coordinate an exhibit all about local native plant life for the month of February. The HIP is a collaborative of Hamilton County citizens, environmental organizations, and government entities. We work together to tackle the invasive species infestation in our county through collaborative programs, volunteer events, and individualized technical assistance for landowners.

This exhibit showcases the beauty and diversity of Indiana’s native plants. Local artwork featuring native flowers, trees, and shrubs are sure to encourage viewers to “Think Spring” and start planning now for their garden refresh.

HCT noted, “In conversation with the Soil and Water Conservation District of Hamilton County, we’ve been thinking about the natural beauty of Indiana’s flora and fauna. Unfortunately, these native plants are often undervalued and overlooked by residents and passed by in favor of plants that are non-native or even invasive. Invasive plants threaten the environmental and economic health of our county, so we decided to bring artists and residents together for a night of education and appreciation of the beauty and value of our native plants.”

The full “Think Spring!” exhibit can be seen in the Stephenson House February 2 through 24, Wednesday through Friday from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and during the January First Friday event from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on the Noblesville Creates campus.
