16 Feb Volunteers Needed: Indiana Artisan Marketplace
Indiana’s premier art, food experience needs volunteers
INDIANAPOLIS (Feb. 11, 2017) – If you enjoy exceptional, one-of-a-kind Indiana art and artisan food and wine, you will want to volunteer for the seventh annual Indiana Artisan Marketplace, March 25-26 in the Exposition Hall at the Indiana State Fairgrounds.
Volunteers are a key to the success of the show, which has become known as Indiana’s premier art and food experience. They help with such hospitality tasks as greeting guests, selling tickets, or answering questions in the information booth. Load-in and -out volunteers get a behind-the-scenes look at the show and a chance to meet the people who create the food and art.
All volunteers receive a T-shirt, free admission to the Marketplace, free parking, exclusive discounts and offers at select booths, and light refreshments. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old.
Over 100 artisans from Indiana will showcase art and food selected as being among the best in the state by food and art jury panels created by Indiana Artisan. Participants from Hamilton County include potter Carol Bell, decoy carver John Bundy, woodworkers Lee Ellis and Tim Kennedy, hand-dyed scarf designer Sylvia Gray, mosaic artist Nancy Keating, painter Pam Newell, and pie baker Lisa Sparks.
In addition to shopping at the booths, visitors will enjoy live art and craft demonstrations, the opportunity to talk with the artisans, and food and drink tasting. Admission is $10. Children 14 and younger may attend for free.
