The Hammer and the Hatchet Concert
April 7, 7 p.m.
Logan Street Sanctuary
$15 suggested donation
Americana duo The Hammer and the Hatchet bring their music to Logan Street Sanctuary.
“Birthed by the hill country pickin’ parties that are synonymous with these Brown County Hills, The Hammer and Hatchet have created a sound that is reaching beyond the county line. John Bowyer, The Hammer, is a virtuoso mandolin player and guitar player who has used his talents as a side man, studio musician, and front man for projects like Old Truck Revival, Punkin’ Holler Boys, Chris Dollar Band, Avocado Chic, and so much more. He recognized in Jayme Hood, The Hatchet, an undiscovered talent, who has quickly moved past protege to become his musical soulmate and songwriting partner. The Americana sound that they have created is bluegrass inspired, harmony rich, and heartfelt. The Hammer and The Hatchet have released two albums. The first (self titled) in January of 2015 and second, Winter Fires in October of 2016.”

Cari Ray and the Shaky Legs Concert
April 21, 7 p.m.
Logan Street Sanctuary
$15 suggested donation
Pre party at 6 p.m. $50/single or $80/couple (vip-pre-release-party.brownpapertickets.com)
Cari Ray is a storyteller who tells her tales through song; songs that manifest themselves in ones mind, transporting them to somewhere in the early part of the last century…perhaps sitting at the back table or out on the dance floor of a back alley juke joint. Cari’s influences as a writer and performer are clear and present in her original material, spanning a wide range of early American music… a helping of acoustic blues, a little folk, a rasher of ragtime, and a slight flavor of old-time country. Her live show serves it up handily with quick wit, tasty fingerstyle guitar, and a huge voice. Add the powerful harmony vocals of percussionist and long-time collaborator, Dionne Ward, and you have Cari Ray & The Shaky Legs. With a unique blend of heart and grit, this power duo will have your heart breaking one minute and your hips shaking the next…all while wondering where they’re hiding the rest of band. Learn more about Cari here: http://cariray.com/
Cari has requested that Emily offer her $15 plates of International cuisine as refreshments at this concert!
You can prepay for your plates via Love’s Hangover’s secure PayPal here. Love’s Hangover will accept cash (first come, first served) and PayPal payments at LSS.
In addition to the usual, general donation at the door of $15 ($10 to artist and $5 to LSS), we are offering a special pre-show, pre-release party. So it’s your choice. Show up at 7 as usual and enjoy the show for the usual donation, or read on for an opportunity to join Cari & Dionne early at a pre-release, first-listen celebration with some pretty cool perks…like new swag, and an early copy of the new record! SPOTS ARE LIMITED, so get on it if you wanna party with CR&TSL!
