Noblesville Creates partner Meyer-Najem has transformed the second story of their beautiful new Fishers building into a bright, modern, open space, perfect for featuring the contemporary works of our local artists. With a passion for supporting the local arts community, Meyer-Najem will host art exhibits viewable to the public from 8am – 5pm, Monday – Friday. For the months of August – October, Noblesville Creates is excited to showcase the work of local artist Laura Stennett. A Texan relocated to the Midwest, Laura paints contemporary landscapes drawn from her memories and explorations in the vast landscapes of her home state, the Western US, and the Midwest. Liquid acrylics, pen and ink, and other mediums come together in smart, sweeping abstracts that are sure to capture the imagination of every viewer.

Noblesville Visitor’s Center Art Exhibit: Mary Jane Keys

A graduate of Purdue University with a bachelor of science in home economics education, Mary Jane’s passions are textiles, color, pattern, and design. She began her art career at the Indianapolis Art Center and Sievers School of Fiber Arts on Washington Island in Wisconsin. As a fiber artist her passions were batik and rozome (a Japanese wax resist technique on silk) as well as quilting. Her materials were dye, wax, thread and natural fibers. About seven years ago she began to paint in watercolor. Transparent dyes and watercolor work in a very similar way when applied to fabric or paper. She has traveled extensively both in the U.S. and abroad, taking many workshops with well-known artists to advance her skills. Her memberships include the Studio Art Quilts Association, Hamilton County Artists Association, Watercolor Society of Indiana, Florida Watercolor Society, and the San Cap Art League on Sanibel Island in Florida where she usually winters. Her work has been shown in several exhibitions in Indiana, Kentucky, Florida,Wisconsin and California.

Von Strantz, two Chicagoland sisters estranged from birth, with two different upbringings, from across the continent finally meet. They took their now known commonalities and in 2013 joined their last names Von Strantz to create music and art from life’s adversities. Utilizing a variety of instruments such as violin, cello, keys, guitar and feet percussion, Von Strantz unites harmonies strung together by commanding and soulful lyrics. With story-sharing as their passion. Von Strantz invites their audience into the emotion of each piece.

Done to Death is a murder mystery comedy written by Fred Carmichael. The plot focuses on five has-been mystery fiction writers who are brought to the mysterious Vulture’s Vault to collaborate on and write a new murder mystery TV series. When real murders start to happen, hilarity ensues. The play is a huge parody of the murder mystery genre as the writers have their own styles that they use in hopes of figuring out the murders. Fast-paced and full of action!!
