We’ve decided to post all of our artist opportunities in one spot to make it easier for our network of creatives. Read on for call-outs and more, and be sure to read all the way through – we wouldn’t want you to miss an important deadline! Note: opportunities are listed chronologically according to deadline date, with deadline in bold (when applicable).

 

Job Opening at Ignite Studio in Fishers (part of Hamilton East Public Library)

Looking for a fun job in an exciting, creative environment? Hamilton East Public Library is currently accepting applications for assistants in their Ignite Studio, a community arts makerspace that will be opening this summer. This position will provide customer service, program facilitation, and administrative assistance in support of library services and programs, especially as related to Ignite. Hamilton Town Center’s 5th Annual Chalk Art Festival

Hamilton Town Center is hosting its 5th Annual Chalk Art Festival on Saturday, June 9th, 2018, 1pm-5pm. They are in need of both Professional (age 18+) and Novice (17 or under) artists to  compete for best chalk mural. The top three artists in each category will win a Simon Malls giftcard. All artists must supply their own chalk. Artists may begin their creations on Saturday starting at 10am, but no earlier. Hurry – we have limited spots available! Deadline to sign-up is May 11th. 

Artist Volunteer Opportunity: Chalk It Up! Contest

Prevail’s 100 Men Campaign is looking for local artists to support their new event at Federal Hill Commons on Saturday, May 12 from 2-4pm. The “Chalk it Up!” Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest will highlight the artistic and creative talent of children and bring the community together. Prevail is looking for volunteer artists for two portions of the event: 1) To provide an instructional “how to” session and chalk art tips to participating kids from 2-2:30pm; 2) To help with judging the contest from 3:30-4pm Interested in helping with this event? Wanted: Summer Camp Instructor for Noblesville Creates’ Adventures in Summer Camp

Noblesville Creates is looking for an instructor for our upcoming Adventures in Art Summer Camp happening this July. Scheduled in partnership with the Noblesville Township Trustee Office, this camp for kids ages 5-12 will be available to Noblesville residents for free. Camp will take place at the Noblesville Township Community Center at 372 8th Street, a short walk from the Noblesville Creates campus. Camp dates are split between two weeks: July 9-13 and July 16-20. Camp sessions will be broken down by age group and will last for one hour each, with an hour between each session for turnover and breaks. Compensation for this position will be $750 per week. Artists Wanted: Fishers Arts Crawl 2018

The Fishers Arts Council along with Noblesville Creates and The City of Fishers is currently seeking artists, artisans and performers to participate in the 2018 Arts Crawl. The crawl is a self-guided tour of the businesses in the Nickel Plate District from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday, July 13, 2018 – rain or shine!

Selected artists, artisans and musicians will be paired with a business in the Nickel Plate District where they will either provide a performance or display their art work. Artwork may be sold.

Callout: Anderson Museum of Art’s “Figures of Speech”

The Anderson Museum of Art is currently accepting submissions for their upcoming “Figures of Speech” exhibit, happening June 26th – August 17th, 2018. All artists age 18 years or older in the Midwest (IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, MI, MN, MO, ND, NE, OH, SD, & WI) are invited to enter this open competition and exhibit. “Figures of Speech” is focused on giving artists the opportunity to turn all the classic figures of speech into works of art. Examples include “Birds of a feather flock together,” “Jumbo shrimp,” “As wise as an owl,” and many more. Works on paper, paintings, contemporary conceptual photography, mixed media, and sculpture will be accepted.

Digital entries are due no later than Tuesday, May 22nd, 2018. An Artist’s Reception and Awards Presentation will take place on Friday, July 6th, 2018. For more information or to submit, view the Anderson Museum of Art’s prospectus.

Artist Opportunity: Wine Down with Art

Noblesville Parks and Recreation is excited to launch a new program called “Wine Down with Art,” an extension of First Friday programming within walking distance of downtown Noblesville. This cultural event will offer an opportunity for local residents to unwind on Friday evenings while celebrating local artists and their work. Happening May 4th, July 6th, and September 7th from 7-9pm at Federal Hill Commons, “Wine Down with Art” will bring in a variety of local wineries, food trucks,  and artists from different backgrounds and styles. Locals are invited to sip and sample Indiana wines, dine al fresco from a selection of cuisines, enjoy live music, and peruse a fantastic selection of art, all against the backdrop of a sunset over White River and Federal Hill.

Noblesville Parks and Recreation are looking to feature 3 artists at each event in an upscale, “outdoor art gallery” setting around the Federal Hill plaza. Interested in participating? Review the guidelines in our full web posting and contact Rachael O’Dell by Friday, May 25th.

Art Scholarship Available for Fishers/HSE Students

Imavex and RQAW are proud to present the Imavex & RQAW Art Scholarship Contest for young, aspiring and talented artists in Fishers. They will be hosting three seperate contests each with 1st, 2nd and 3rd place scholarship prizes. The theme of the contest will be “Exploring Fishers.” All winning artwork will be on display at Imavex and RQAW for a period of one year. This contest is open to current students attending Fishers or HSE HS as a Junior (‘19) or Senior (‘18) OR graduated from Fishers or HSE HS and will be enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited college or university for the 2018-2019 school year. For more information and to apply, visit the Imavex website. Noblesville Creates’ 2018 Maker Faire: Applications Now Open!

It’s back! The Noblesville Creates Maker Faire returns this spring to showcase the works of our talented local artisans and makers. Join us on Saturday, June 16th from 11am – 5pm on the downtown Noblesville Courthouse Square alongside the 41st Annual Strawberry Festival organized by St. Michael’s Episcopal Church. If you are a local artisan, maker, or craftsperson with an interest in selling your wares and/or demonstrating your skills at this high-traffic event, please review the event details and fill out the application by Wednesday, May 30th, 2018 to be considered.

Fishers Arts Council’s Art in City Hall Exhibit Season

The Fishers Arts Council is pleased to announce its 2018 Art in City Hall Exhibit Season. Each month, there will be a new exhibit of artwork reflecting a variety of topics relative to the City of Fishers and offered by the residents of Fishers and the surrounding metropolitan area. The exhibits are open to the general public during regular business hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. In addition to these hours, a reception is generally held for the participating artists at some point during the exhibit, usually from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. And, most artwork is available for purchase.
