12 Feb Attention Local Authors!
We are holding a book-themed membership appreciation event on March 24th, from 6:30-8 pm and we are looking for up to 12 local authors and/or book makers to participate.
This event will be marketed directly to our members, as well as book clubs throughout the Nickel Plate Region. Noblesville Creates members get to come and bring one guest for free – for all other attendees, the cost is $10.
The event will have two parts. From 6:30-7pm, each author will have a ‘station’ from which to sell their book and mingle with guests. Details on the specs for each station will be available once we select our group of authors. The goal of this portion of the event is for you to mingle & introduce yourself to potential new readers/patrons. We will supply snacks and adult beverages.
From 7-8, we will host a presentation where each author or book maker gets to make a short presentation. You will have 5 minutes to inspire and delight the audience in whatever way you like – you can read a passage, sum up your life story, list off reasons why authors are important to communities, share your tips for aspiring writers, do a song and dance – anything is fair game! The goal is to have fun, give our members something interesting to do with their evening, and to give you 5 minutes of spotlight!
If you are selected, there will be no cost to you, although our normal 20% commission will apply on any items you sell.
Please note that we are very interested in including all types of literature, as well as anyone who hand-binds books, journals, etc in this event.

- 1-3 sentences about your books or the products you would like to feature at the event.
- 1-3 sentences describing the ‘big idea’ or inspirational presentation that you would like to make during the event.
We will review submissions and select participants by 5 pm on Wednesday, Feb 24th. Space is very limited – our selections will be based upon the strength of your application and ‘big idea.’
