Four Day Ray Showcase: Frederick Durham’s “Breaking Point”

Four Day Ray Showcase: Frederick Durham’s “Breaking Point”

“Tapping into your unrealized potential, and tipping into the next phase of your development.”

Frederick Durham, Noblesville Creates’ 2021 Emerging Artist of the Year, is always ready to capture a moment in time. He does his best to not have a specific agenda when he goes out to shoot. Keeping himself in the moment, he fully takes in his surroundings, waiting for a special something to catch his eye. “It’s mostly color and lines that draw me in.” Once he finds it, he may find himself “laying on the ground in the middle of downtown” just to make sure he considers all the available angels when capturing his subject.

Frederick’s latest showcase, aptly named “Breaking Point”, features his signature style. “The pieces in the show, I feel like those are my main staple pieces that really showcase my style. All of the pieces show some sort of landscape or beautiful city.” But why the name “Breaking Point?”

“As a professional photographer, there comes a time when your style of work becomes inspiring and influential to young, aspiring photographers. I’m now at a breaking point in my career to inspire a different style of photography; getting outside my comfort zone and discovering what else I have to offer as a photographer.”

Frederick hopes his versatility and skills will inspire others to be free in their work and hone their craft. Fans and photographers (ages 21+) can meet Frederick at his free public reception on Monday, October 3 from 4:30-7:30 p.m. at Four Day Ray in the brewery. Additional items may be available during the reception, beyond what is currently on display.

See Frederick’s showcase exhibit “Breaking Point” at Four Day Ray Brewing, 11671 Lantern Road in Fishers, from September 30-December 29. Four Day Ray is open daily from 11 a.m. – 9 p.m.; later on Fridays and Saturdays. Photography can be purchased by scanning the QR code under each piece, or by contacting Noblesville Creates directly.
