HEPL seeking a Manager for the Ignite Makerspace

HEPL seeking a Manager for the Ignite Makerspace

Hamilton East Public Library seeks an energetic, creative, people-person to manage Ignite Studio at HEPL, the unique makerspace housed in the Fishers Library.  This is a full-time, salaried position with supervisory responsibilities that requires someone comfortable overseeing art projects, creative technology, and community partners.  Starting salary for this position is $48,000-$55,000 per year.

Ignite is a unique public space that invites all members of our community to create together, to explore their own artistic potential, to learn new technologies, and to celebrate self-expression and discovery.  Those who work in Ignite must be willing and able to embrace the beauty of a chaotic, creative environment that will at times be messy, disorganized, busy, and loud.  The highest priority in Ignite is engagement: we want to inspire all who enter to feel comfortable and empowered to jump right in and make something.  Ignite staff members need to be able to promote a safe, supportive environment, while welcoming guests and managing the fair use of supplies and equipment.

Position Purpose:

Manages and oversees the operations of Ignite Studio at HEPL, including planning, developing, communicating and implementing policies, procedures, and goals.  Oversees, develops and supports art projects, creative technology, and community partnerships.
