Stephenson Showcase: Neon Electric Moon by Liz Hamstra

Stephenson Showcase: Neon Electric Moon by Liz Hamstra

Liz Hamstra is a multi-talented artist hailing from Fishers, Indiana. She graduated from Herron School of Art and Design with a BFA degree, specializing in ceramics, photography, and art history. Liz’s passion for art and creativity is evident in her vast body of work that spans across various mediums and genres.

With ten years of experience teaching art at the Indianapolis Art Center, Liz has emerged as an accomplished teacher and mentor to several of her students. Her commitment to teaching and sharing her knowledge has helped push her own personal artwork into many directions.

In the past two years, Liz’s focus has shifted towards two new projects – hand-painted guitars and large mandalas with abstract designs. Her hand-painted guitars are a unique blend of music and art brought to life with the help of her husband. Her large mandala abstract designs are characterized by bold and bright colors and are a testament to her versatility in exploring different art forms. These works are on display in her exhibit, Neon Electric Moon, for the month of June at Noblesville Creates.

Liz’s work has been showcased in several exhibitions and galleries and has gained recognition for its intricate detailing and high-quality craftsmanship. Her passion for creating art that ignites emotions and inspires creativity is evident in her work. For her future plans she wants to go explore larger mural painting on non-traditional surfaces.

The full Neon Electric Moon exhibit can be seen in the Stephenson House on Noblesville Creates campus June 2 through July 1, Wednesday through Friday from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. You can meet Liz at June First Friday on Noblesville Creates campus and at her free public reception on June 24 from 5 to 8 p.m.
