Stephenson Showcase: Rodney Reveal’s “Summer Showcase”

Stephenson Showcase: Rodney Reveal’s “Summer Showcase”

Constantly creating in his Noblesville Creates studio, Rodney has been having a little fun lately interacting on social media. Once a painting is ready to hang on the wall of his studio, “I go on (Facebook) asking for titles, and people enjoy doing that.” Rodney takes his time to read every response, then when he finds a theme, “really taking community response into account,” he announces the official title. This interaction has led to some online sales for Rodney, with so many people giving their opinion on a title, generally someone asks, “Is this still available?” The rest is history.

Rodney Reveal with a budding arts patron, October 2021

In recent years, Rodney has been studying the works of some Quest for the West winners and focused on the softness of their paintings and how he can bring that to his own work. “I do too many hard edges, so I’m constantly trying to make myself have soft edges. Knowing when to do it, having the technique, and knowing where to use it. This is one thing I’m trying to do better.”

We’re looking forward to June for Rodney’s “Summer Showcase” – where we can see these refined skills and hopefully a painting we helped name among the many. Be sure to join Rodney for his reception on June 4 – he encourages you to see his show and “come for wine before you dine.”

Rodney’s exhibit will be on display in the Stephenson House from June 3-25. Visit the galley during our business hours, Wednesday-Friday 12 p.m. – 5 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
