Stephenson Showcase: Windows of My Soul by Leslie Ober

Stephenson Showcase: Windows of My Soul by Leslie Ober

Leslie Ober is an award-winning Indiana artist who dabbles in various mediums and subject matter. No matter the artwork, Ober’s goal is always to capture life and light in each and every one of her works.

Ober attended Indiana University where she received a degree in health education. She identifies herself as a “natural teacher” who loves sharing her knowledge with those around her and has been homeschooling her six children for over 12 years.

Ober enjoys working with a variety of mediums like acrylics, pastels, oils and various other mixed media. Her upcoming exhibit, “Windows of My Soul” will consist of a collection of her work that “reflects the things in life that make [her] heart sing” curated alongside original poems and songs.

“This is an exclusive opportunity to get a glimpse into who I am as an artist, writer, and human being,” says Ober. “Though uncomfortably raw and vulnerable, I hope it will be a source of hope and light as I share some Windows of My Soul.”

Alongside her artwork, Ober enjoys earning extra income by working on websites and designing cards for her greeting card business, “Ober the Rainbow Greetings.” She also enjoys writing and is hoping to publish children’s books sometime in the near future.

Ober has served on the Hamilton County Artists’ Association board as President for the last two years, where she has helped organize local art events. She also loves to perform on stage at the Attic Theatre and coach local youth track and field clubs.

“Life is anything but slow and quiet for me,” Ober says.

Ober’s favorite quote is, “We don’t stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing,” by George Bernard Shaw.

“My goal is to never stop playing, exploring, or creating and to encourage others along the way,” says Ober.

The full Windows of My Soul exhibit can be seen in the Stephenson House September 1st through September 30th, Wednesday through Friday from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. You can meet Ober during the September First Friday event from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00  p.m. in the Stephenson House on the Noblesville Creates campus.
