The Artist Next Door: Submit work through Dec. 23

It’s a safe bet that you know an artist — professional or hobbyist — living within a few blocks of your home. We want to know them, too, and The Artist Next Door exhibit in January is a great place for all of us to meet.

Here at Noblesville Creates, we love to celebrate and connect with our local creative community. It’s a sincere request — we’re nothing without our community.

Talented artists from a variety of backgrounds and styles live all across The Artist Next Door We want to show off your art! Submit work through Dec. 23. Jan. 6-27 Noblesville, Fishers, Cicero, Arcadia, Atlanta and Tipton, and it’s a part of our mission to celebrate and expand our multifaceted network of creatives. We believe that art has the power to shape communities.

“Being part of an established and thriving artist community has built my confidence by creating a place where I am encouraged to be myself,” says Noblesville artist Kat Ho. Besides recently receiving Noblesville Creates’ 2016 Emerging Artist of the Year award, Kat is the Art Director at the Boys & Girls Club of Noblesville, helping local youth develop their creative talents.

We’d love for you to “add your thread” to the fabric of our community, no matter what your background, training or chosen medium, and our January exhibit offers the perfect opportunity to do just that: The Artist Next Door will feature the work of artists from all around our vibrant, creative population. Hang your art alongside your fellow creative neighbors’ work in a display of the vast talents represented by our region. This exhibit is a celebration of you!

Gallery visitors, class participants and First Friday attendees will not only view your work, but will also have the opportunity to buy a masterpiece from your friends and neighbors. In some cases, your work may be featured in promotional materials and media.

“The Artist Next Door” promises to engage our local artists and provide a snapshot of the rich talents, broad perspectives and varying art styles across our network of established and emerging artists. The exhibit debuts on Jan. 6, 6-9 p.m., during our monthly First Friday artists’ reception and will be open for viewing during regular gallery hours through Friday, Jan. 27.
