Roseanne Crowell

Roseanne Crowell

Roseanne Crowell Photo SmallOriginally from New York, Roseanne has lived in several states, but has been an Indiana resident for over 20 years.  She has always had an interest in art, from her earliest years with crayons and paint sets, to decorating grade school classrooms, but she seriously began to focus on her art once her children were grown.  Mainly self-taught, she has taken a number of extra classes and workshops, and has painted with a variety of notable artists while traveling across the country and back.

Roseanne works mainly in Pastel, but also in Oil and Watercolor.  Her subjects range from wildlife art, portraits of pets and/or their people, floral and nature scenes.  Her work has been recognized with ribbons and awards in county fairs, the Indiana State Fair, First and Second place for the Indiana Wildlife Artists’ Annual Exhibits (2011, 2012, 2013), the Madison Art Club’s Annual Exhibit, the HCAA Fall Show People’s Choice Award, the Hoosier Salon Members Show Merit Award, and Honorable Mentions at the Nature’s Inspiration Show.

She works from her own photographs, which allows her to incorporate the detail her work is noted for.

Artist’s Statement:

“I like to put detail in my artwork, and try to capture the essence of God’s creations in my paintings, so I can share what I see with others.”
