Dr Leah Leach Listen and Craft

Dr. Leah Leach will be reading live for this Listen and Craft!

Award-winning local author and founder of the Gal's Guide Library, Leah Leach will read to us while we paint! Leah will read a published piece entitled "Mother's at a Science Faire" which showcases a new style of telling history with a compassionate and empowering lens. You might have heard that Leah is working on a book & a workshop around this project... well those who attend will get a special sneak peek of chapters of the new book she's working on!

"Born of Many Mothers" is a project told in a mythic and guided-meditation style that showcases a storytelling structure that focuses on the universal needs that connect our humanity. The book project is a building block that uses women's history for everyone to build a better future. The book is being written. The workshop will take place this October at Gal's Guide Library.

While we listen, we'll make clay lanterns! We will show you a few basic flowers, but if you have other ideas, we can help you create them!

Create whimsical cut outs from a slab of clay, stand it up, join you seams, add a base and voila! You'll have an heirloom lantern to display on your mantel or set outside. Finished lanterns come with a flameless tea light so you can enjoy right away!

Make your lantern with us and allow 10 days to harden and kiln your clay, then come back and paint your piece. Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferrable.
