05 May Guided Nature Walks: Wellspring on the Trails
Wellspring is a reminder of your fullness as a unique individual, your birthright of joy, and of the wholeness we all share as members of the living, natural world. Learn about the local plants, animals, and habitats here at Conner Prairie that inspired the Wellspring exhibit while we stroll together.
Audience: We welcome anyone who enjoys connecting with the natural world and is curious to learn more about Wellspring. All ages are welcome!
Access considerations: Meet your guide for this program near the tram turnaround behind the Museum Experience Center. On this one-hour out-and-back stroll, we will travel between 0.75 and 1 miles, depending on the pace of our group. From the Museum Experience Center, we will stroll down a 0.10-mile paved hill, then join the paved, flat, 10-foot-wide Prairie Trail. We will follow this partly-shaded paved trail for 0.20 miles. We will then journey along the shaded, 5-foot-wide, crushed-gravel Vista Trail. Benches are available along the route at the bottom of the hill, at 0.2 miles and 0.4 miles. At the conclusion of the program, participants will have the option to continue along the Vista Trail on their own or follow the same route back to the Museum Experience Center with the guide. This is a rain-or-shine program; please dress accordingly and bring comfort items as needed (e.g., sunscreen, hat, water). Restrooms are available in the Museum Experience Center and include accessible stalls. Please reach out to our Nature Engagement Specialist at morton@connerprairie.org if you would like to share or discuss ways we can support your access needs for this program.
This Guided Nature Walk is free with general admission.
