09 May Hamilton County Bicentennial & 1835 Barker Family Cabin Grand Opening Event
The Westfield Washington Historical Society would like to invite you to the Hamilton County Centennial Celebration located at 130-136 Penn Street, Westfield, Indiana 46074 on 3 June 2023.
The event starts at 10am and ends at 7pm. This is an exciting time for all of us as we are celebrating the 200th year anniversary of the establishment of Hamilton County. This is an event for the whole family and friends! There will be many attractions for all to enjoy.
To start off the event at 10am will be the grand opening of the 1835 Barker Family log cabin with a ribbon cutting ceremony led by Mrs. Diane Peyton and the Westfield Washington Historical Society located at 136 Penn Street. The guest of honor will be Mayor Andy Cook of Westfield to assist with the ribbon cutting. The Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion detail will perform a salute and TAPS played by a bugler.
At 10:30 am all attractions are open for all to enjoy. The 1835 Barker Family log cabin will be open to visitors.
The Rusty Musket will be playing patriotic music such as Yankee Doodle Dandy, Youre a Grand Ole Flag, This Land Is Your Land, and many more songs.
Quilts of all kinds will be on display. The Westfield Washington Historical Society Museum will also be open and will have items available for donations including Historical and Commemorative Postcards, the Our Westfield 1834-1984 book and more!
Cool down in the City Hall Assembly room where we will have a slide show of Historic Pictures rolling all day.
Stop by for a pony ride or the petting zoo to bond with animals.
There will be a display of historic farm tools and activities for young and old including the always popular corn shelling!
Are you feeling hungry? Check out a food truck or a booth of your choice for a meal or a simple snack.
Dont forget to visit the car show and vote for your favorite car or truck. Prizes will be awarded to different categories of cars and trucks. Yes, there will be a Peoples Choice award!
If this is not enough, stop by and visit the different branches of the military.
Carnival games are always a hit with all ages. Perhaps you might want to play a game or two and try to win a prize. .

There will be plenty of seating in the sun and shade spread throughout the event for your convenience. There will be wheelchair access and seating available.
