02 May Janus Developmental Services: Photography on Display
The photos were all taken by people that Janus supports by people who chose to participate because they love taking photos! The frames were assembled and hand-painted by the participants of the photography group as well. The framed photo masterpieces will be for sale to community members. The photographers will realize a 60% commission of the sale and Janus will utilize 40% of the sale for more materials and supplies. The photography project was made possible from an Indiana Arts Commission Grant for Art Projects. Janus participants had the opportunity to learn about the basics of photography from a local professional photography, Daniel Grose (who is amazing!). Daniel came on-site to teach the basics and he met the group in the community while they were taking photos to troubleshoot and share feedback. Participants went to every corner of the county to take photos throughout Hamilton County such as Noblesville, Fishers, Carmel, Westfield, Cicero, Sheridan, Arcadia, etc. This exhibit is occurring in celebration of National Photography Month (May) and its intent is to showcase the talents and skills of people of all abilities, regardless of intellectual or developmental differences.
