MARILYN MAYE (Concert Director) a Grammy Award nominated recording artist, actress, director, arranger and educator. She appeared 76 times on “The Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson,” the record for a singer. Marilyn began her professional singing career by winning a 13-week appearance on radio station WIBW in Topeka, Kansas at age 9. During her eleven-year engagement at the Colony in Kansas City, she was discovered by Steve Allen who was the first to present her to a national television audience, which led her to an RCA recording contract. At RCA, she made seven albums and 34 singles, including the first hit recordings of “Cabaret” and “Step to the Rear.” The Smithsonian Institution selected her recording “Too Late Now” for its album of the 110 Best American Compositions of the Twentieth Century. Her 100+ New York engagements in the last nine years include sold-out runs at 54 Below, Birdland, Feinstein’s at the Regency, New York’s The Town Hall and the 92nd Street Y.
