National Day of Prayer, Carmel Observance

All are cordially invited to attend the National Day of Prayer annual prayer observance on Thursday, May 7, 2026, from 12-1 p.m. at the Carmel City Hall. The area gathering meets in the City Council Chambers on the second floor, located at 1 Civic Square, Carmel, IN, 46032.

The theme for 2026 is “Glorify God among all the nations — seeking Him in all generations,” and is based on 1 Chronicles 16:24 (NASB).

This year’s 75th prayer observance feels especially significant when considered alongside the 250th anniversary of our nation’s founding this July.

The local event is a part of the National Day of Prayer observance held on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. Events will be held in all 50 states and U.S. territories. The Carmel gathering will include appearances by Indiana Lt. Governor Micah Beckwith and Carmel Mayor Sue Finkam, and the Upper School Choir from Coram Deo Academy in Carmel, Indiana. Additionally, local members of TPUSA's Club America students will be attending to pray for our nation's students.

Vice President of the National Day of Prayer Dion Elmore notes, “As I’ve prayed into this season, one phrase keeps settling in my heart: before celebration must come consecration… before remembrance must come repentance. If we are to celebrate well, we must first allow the Lord to search us. Beneath the division and weariness of our time is a deep spiritual hunger.”
