Songwriters Series Created by John Gilmore and Hosted by Noblesville Creates

Noblesville Creates is presenting something new! Another kind of original art. A songwriters “in the round” event showcasing three local songwriters. This is an opportunity to meet the writers and hear their songs as well as some of the stories behind the songs in a quiet listening environment. In case you are not familiar with the ‘songwriters in the round’ format, they’re really pretty simple. The singer/songwriters take turns with each presenting one song at a time usually with a bit of explanation on each song. The inspiration, back story, etc. Please join us for this special night of music. The event is at the Judge Stone house and seating will be limited. We ask that you refrain from talking during the show so as to allow people to focus on the lyrics.

Date/Time: February 9th, 7 to 9pm with doors opening at 6:30pm

Location: Noblesville Creates on 8th in the Judge Stone House (107 S. 8th St., Noblesville, IN 46060)

Parking: The Levinson Garage across the street is free for 4 hours.  Free parking can also be found on Maple Avenue and in the Purple Lot (after 5).

Cost: A donation of $10 is highly suggested.  This money pays for the musicians and the planning for the event.

Musicians:

Chris Baird- Born in North Chicago Illinois to a career military Father, Chris moved frequently and saw much of the US and Europe by age 10.  Although he calls Waukegan, Illinois home for Jr. High and High School, he continued to move about (Maine, Washington State, Southern Illinois, Georgia, and Italy) into adulthood until 2007 when he finally found “home” in Noblesville Indiana. Firstly a fan of music, Chris Baird, has always listened obsessively to songs that connect with him.  Seeking interesting sounds, surprising lyrics or the hook that imprints a song to a human An accomplished vocalist fronting longtime local Rock cover band Fast Cadillac, Chris’ personal songwriting is poignant, honest, often filled with symbolism, introspection and commentary on the human condition.  Themes of growth, surviving trauma, relationships and family are encased in a voice that demands attention.

Kelli Ray-Yates- Kelli is a singer-songwriter with a powerful and soulful voice accompanying her acoustic guitar. Her vocals can be as sensitive as they are powerful drawing on diverse influences from Amy Winehouse to Taylor Swift. She was a founding member of the local acoustic trio Noble Roots and began her songwriting journey in earnest with the local acoustic duo Mama’s Homemade.  A regular fixture in Noblesville she has played the Indiana Peony Festival and the Noblesville Street Dance as a solo performer. Her writing is very personal but relatable. Smart lyrics with engaging melodies. She is currently working on writing her first album of original material

John Gilmore- John is an accomplished and award-winning singer-songwriter hailing from Central Indiana. With a passion for creating original music, he has successfully released two projects comprising a diverse blend of Bluegrass, blues, country, and folk genres, with a third project currently in development. Boasting over three decades of guitar-playing experience, John's musical journey began with fingerstyle/Travis style picking, and later transitioned into Bluegrass flatpicking. His performances are characterized by captivating melodies infused with delightful twists that leave a lasting impression on the listener. John's songwriting encompasses a wide range of emotions, from poignant and introspective to lighthearted and whimsical, with instrumental compositions adding further depth to his repertoire. Whether performing as a solo act or leading the talented Lenwood Trio, John's ability to craft narrative-driven songs is reminiscent of his esteemed influences such as John Prine, Kris Kristofferson, Guy Clark, and other notable artists.
