2018 Polk Street Review 

As 2017 wraps to a close, Logan Street Sanctuary is gearing up to accept submissions for their 2018 edition of the Polk Street Review. The Polk Street Review is an annual anthology that celebrates Noblesville with three categories: images, song lyrics/poetry, and prose. There is one simple rule for submissions: they must be either submitted by people with a connection to Noblesville or the submission content must be connected to Noblesville. This year’s theme: “Fact or Fiction – YOU Decide”. Click here for more informationsubmission deadline is December 31, 2017.

Job Opportunity: Ignite Studio Manager Position

Hamilton East Public Library seeks an energetic, creative, people-person to manage Ignite Studio at HEPL, the unique makerspace housed in the Fishers Library.  This is a full-time, salaried position with supervisory responsibilities that requires someone comfortable overseeing art projects, creative technology, and community partners.  Starting salary for this position is $48,000-$55,000 per year. Interested? Auditions: Steel Magnolia with Tipton Community Theater

Tipton Community Theater will be holding open auditions for their upcoming production, “Steel Magnolias”. See performance times, audition dates and times, character descriptions, and notes below.Performance dates and times are Friday and Saturday nights, January 26 and 27, 2018, 7:30 PM, and Sunday afternoon, January 28, 2018, 2:00 PM, THS Auditorium. Audition dates and times are Sunday and Monday evenings, November 19 and 20, 2017, 7:00 PM, Tipton High School Band Room

Indiana Arts Commissions’ Individual Advancement Program (IAP) 

The Indiana Arts Commission wants to remind you about the Individual Advancement Program (IAP), which provides support to artists in their career development projects. This year’s grant will support projects in the following disciplines: visual arts, crafts, design, media arts, and photography. Grant amounts can range from $500-$2000. Cool Creek Nature Center: “Nature’s Inspirations” Fine Art Exhibit & Sale

Cool Creek Nature Center in Carmel is seeking artwork for its 2018 exhibit, “Nature’s Inspirations”. Artwork depicting nature, wildlife, or “nature-scapes” are eligible for submission to the show and can be represented in both 2-D and 3-D media. Nature’s Inspirations will run from February 17th – March 4th, 2017. Deadline to submit is Friday, February 2nd.

National Callout: Crosswalk Designs Needed in Virginia Beach

Have you had a chance to admire Downtown Noblesville’s awesome new crosswalk designs? Have you daydreamed about having your own design realized in a high-traffic area? Here’s your chance! ViBE Creative District, Virginia Beach’s first creative arts district, is seeking proposals from artists all over the country to redesign four of their city’s crosswalks as part of their “Creative Crosswalk” program in 2019. Interested? Find more information on Facebook, and act fast – deadline to submit is December 31st, 2017!
