January 2018 Artist Opportunities

We’ve decided to post all of our artist opportunities in one spot to make it easier for our network of creatives. Read on for call-outs and more, and be sure to read all the way through – we wouldn’t want you to miss an important deadline!

Fishers Arts Council’s Art in City Hall Exhibit Season

The Fishers Arts Council is pleased to announce its 2018 Art in City Hall Exhibit Season. Each month, there will be a new exhibit of artwork reflecting a variety of topics relative to the City of Fishers and offered by the residents of Fishers and the surrounding metropolitan area. The exhibits are open to the general public during regular business hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. In addition to these hours, a reception is generally held for the participating artists at some point during the exhibit, usually from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. And, most artwork is available for purchase. Blackhawk Winery’s 2018 Wine Label Contest

Calling all wine-loving artists! Blackhawk Winery, our partner in the arts, is bringing their wine label design contest back for 2018 and they want to see your work! This year’s theme, “Love Letter to Indiana,” invites you to highlight what you love about our Hoosier state using your unique, artistic skills. Click here for more information. Contest deadline to submit is Tuesday, February 28 at midnight.

2018 Hoosier Women Artists Contest

All women artists in Indiana are eligible to enter the 2018 Hoosier Women Artists contest through Friday, Jan. 26. The contest is organized by Indiana Lt. Gov. Suzanne Crouch, Treasurer Kelly Mitchell, and the Indiana Arts Commission. Winners will have their artwork displayed Mitchell’s and Crouch’s offices at the Statehouse for one year, to be viewed by thousands of school groups, visitors and staff who explore the building annually. Indiana Arts Commissions’ Individual Advancement Program (IAP) 

The Indiana Arts Commission wants to remind you about the Individual Advancement Program (IAP), which provides support to artists in their career development projects. This year’s grant will support projects in the following disciplines: visual arts, crafts, design, media arts, and photography. Grant amounts can range from $500-$2000. Click here to read our posting about this opportunity and to access other important links. The IAP application deadline is February 15th, 2018 at 4:30pm.

Free Accelerator for Indiana Creative Entrepreneurs!

The Indiana Arts Commission is introducing a new, free program for creative entrepreneurs. “On-Ramp” is an accelerator made up of three components: a course, a certificate, and one-on-one coaching. If 2018 is your year to take your art career to the next level, check out the details and apply soon – the application deadline is March 1st, 2018. For more information, see our website post.

Cool Creek Nature Center: “Nature’s Inspirations” Fine Art Exhibit & Sale

Cool Creek Nature Center in Carmel is seeking artwork for its 2018 exhibit, “Nature’s Inspirations”. Artwork depicting nature, wildlife, or “nature-scapes” are eligible for submission to the show and can be represented in both 2-D and 3-D media. Nature’s Inspirations will run from February 17th – March 4th, 2017. Deadline to submit is Friday, February 2nd.
