The Hamilton County Artists’ Association will be exhibiting their work in the new Ignite! Gallery of the Fishers Public Library. The organization is comprised of artists from all over the local county and is honored to be hanging an exhibit entitled “Remember”  in the recently designed Gallery.

The Alcove Featured Artist Q1: Gale Sturm

Hamilton County Artists’ Association “Loving Large” Exhibit

Julie Crum, Active Juried Artist member of HCAA and graduate in art from John Brown University will share her love of painting, and particularly acrylic medium, during four classes for beginners ages 14 years and above.  She asks participants to bring their existing supplies, brushes, rags, water container, medium sized canvas, and photo or picture for inspiration (no animals or faces).

Podcast & video episodes air on Fridays, 4pm

@theroundtable is our Arts-related podcast and short videos series where we discuss the Arts with writers, musicians, and artists of all kinds! All are welcome to sit at our roundtable; our noble knights have no labels, except: Creatives! We often invite some of our online Arts Showcase exhibitors and our NICE and The Polk Street Review participants to @theroundtable, but we also seek participation from folks we haven’t worked with (yet!). Our monthly recording schedule is First Tuesdays 6:30-7:30pm, and each episode is usually about 15 minutes long. Podcast Episodes air on Fridays at 4pm, starting in January 2020. It’s a Leap Year, so “leap” on over to the book launch for The Polk Street Review 2020 edition! Join us at the Hamilton County Artists’ Association’s Birdie Gallery for the book launch! Enjoy hearing some of our 2020 published pieces presented by their authors, artists, and musicians. Books are available for pre-purchase at the introductory price of $20 before Feb. 29 at https://squareup.com/store/CEArts/item/pre-order-the-polk-street-review. (Books will be available for purchase at the book launch, but please note: price may be higher.) Doors open at 6pm, presentations of selected submissions to the book and Awards in three categories (images; poetry/song lyrics; prose) starts at 6:30pm, and will end by 8:30pm.
The evening includes a short intermission and light refreshments.

Happy Babies

This class is for babies 2 months – 2 years of ages.
Instructor Emily Crapnell, local mom and educator, leads this class that includes science, signing, crafts, mindfulness, music and social time.

Wednesday Art Classes
Wednesdays Jan 8 – May 27

11-11:30 a.m. Family Art Time   
This art time is geared for toddlers – pre-K kiddos and is a 1/2 hr of art exploration and creative play.  We will be working through the alphabet each week and in a variety of artful ways.
1:30-2:30 p.m. Homeschool Art 
4:00-5:00 p.m. After-school Art 
5:00-6:00 p.m. Teen Art
Students will focus on skill building. We will spend each month doing opening exercises and completing projects that will tackle skills needed for specific areas of art.  For instance, the focus for the first month will be on drawing.  Students will learn about the many forms of drawing and begin a sketch book to reflect this as well as taking home final drafts of their work.  Skill categories for the year include painting, weaving, printmaking, clay work, photography, light and shadow, paper mâché, color theory, wire work, beading, and more.
6:30-7:30 p.m. Adult Art Class
Participants will have a choice between working on a guided project each week or working progressively on a project in a medium and subject of their choice.  The guided project for each will will be announced on social media.
