Carol Griffith

Carol Griffith is a Noblesville Creates Member and Volunteer with a background in watercolor painting and photography. A modern renaissance woman, Carol has stories and tales from her previous lives in a variety of creative outlets. Today, she paints mostly ladies – her friends – in a humorous fashion when she is not taking photographs of local scenery and events.

Carol is originally from Dayton, Ohio. She attended the University of Dayton as well as the Dayton Art Institute. For 25 years, Carol worked for herself as a sculptor, focusing primarily on porcelain. Upon retirement, she relocated to Indiana and pursued new artistic endeavors via the Indianapolis Art Center, studying photography and watercolors under the tutelage of several well-known artists. She currently lives in Cicero with her husband Steve and supports Noblesville Creates in a variety of ways, most notably as a member of our Exhibits Committee.

Carol is a Signature Member of the Watercolor Society of Indiana. She is also a Juried Member of the Indiana Artists (formerly Indiana Artists Club), the Hoosier Salon, and Hamilton County Artists’ Association. Carol belongs to the Hamilton County Photographers group as well.

Carol has received the following awards:

  • Miami Valley Fine Arts Exhibition: Chamber of Commerce’s Purchase Award for Photography; Best of Show; First Place
  • Cool Creek Nature Show: Second Place and Honorable Mention in Photography
  • Piqua, Ohio Arts Council Annual Show: Third Place in Watercolor
