Aspire Indiana is excited to announce their first ever 5K & 1 mile run/walk in support of InSHAPE, their fitness and nutrition program designed for individuals experiencing serious mental illness! Come join us for this family friendly, SUPERHERO themed event at Conner Prairie, Saturday April 22nd! Grab your super suits and capes and we will see you there!
Fun activities for kids, refreshments for all, group stretching and warm up activities await participants in the timed 5k run/walk and those enjoying a 1 mile walk through Conner Prairie’s historic grounds. There will be $50 prizes for best youth and adult costumes, and a $100 prize for best group costume. You don’t want to miss out!
InSHAPE is a fitness program designed for individuals dealing with a serious mental illness. The goal of this evidence-based program is to improve health, wellbeing, and longevity, prioritizing 6 essential elements; wellness focused, participant-driven, multidisciplinary, individualized, health mentors, and community involvement. The InSHAPE certified personal trainer uses education, exercise, fitness, nutrition, and community engagement to help individuals address issues such as losing weight, improving cognitive functions, decreasing depression and anxiety, improving self esteem, and decreasing social isolation.
