Ages 14+

Join returning artist Barbara Howrey for six workshops during our Fall Fluid Art Class! Each date will be a new project that students will start and finish within the 2-hour workshop. Beginners welcome!

Most supplies will be provided. Clothes you don't mind getting paint on are recommended.

Sept 19th - Ocean Beach Scene

Let's paint an ocean beach scene using a technique called the Swipe. The Swipe technique is one of my (Barbara's) favorites and used frequently in fluid art.

Oct 3rd - Dutch Pour

Dutch Pour is one of the most popular fluid art techniques. Using a blow dryer, the paint can be manipulated into various compositions. I will have photos of various Dutch pours so you can choose the colors and composition you like.

Note: Please bring your own blow dryer. If you don't have one, please contact us and we can arrange for an extra dryer.

Oct 17th - Halloween Swipe

Let's have some Halloween fun and paint some scary and not so scary ghosts. This painting will provide a chance to work on the swipe technique again. As a fun final touch, "Glow in the Dark" paint will be provided to make the eyes glow!

Nov 7th - Split Dutch Pour

A split Dutch pour is the next level Dutch Pour. The base color on the canvas is "split" into two colors and the blown colors are added along the split.

Note: Please bring your own blow dryer. If you don't have one, please contact us and we can arrange for an extra dryer.

Nov 21st - Jewelry and other things

With Christmas just around the corner, this class will focus on making jewelry, key chains, pop sockets, etc. using recycled acrylic paint from previous pours. These make beautiful Christmas gifts for family and friends.

Dec 5th - Christmas Ornaments

Alcohol Inks are a different type of fluid art and make beautiful abstract art. It's easy and quick to do and make beautiful ornaments.

**PLEASE NOTE: The last day to register will be the Friday before each workshop. Please register by the Friday before the workshop in order to be fully enrolled.
