The dovetail was a hallmark of early American furniture and remains a benchmark of quality craftsmanship today. Form meets function as this woodworking process was originally a utilitarian method for joining boards together and hidden in finer works.
In this two-day course, you’ll learn — through an easy layout process — how to assemble dovetail joints using a saw, chisel, and plane, all while gaining confidence with hand tools along the way. By the end, you’ll have created your own hand-crafted candle box with a sliding lid, a classic household item found in early American homes.
This workshop is the perfect introduction to precision joinery and the timeless art of woodworking. All tools and materials are included.
