Leslie Ober, an award-winning Indiana artist, explores various mediums and subject matter in her artwork. Her ultimate goal is to capture life and light in each piece she creates. Alongside her artistic pursuits, Ober holds a degree in health education from Indiana University. A self-identified "natural teacher," she has been homeschooling her six children for over 12 years and has a passion for sharing her knowledge with others.
Ober enjoys working with a variety of mediums like acrylics, pastels, oils and various other mixed media. Her upcoming exhibit, “Windows of My Soul” will consist of a collection of her work that “reflects the things in life that make [her] heart sing” curated alongside original poems and songs.
“This is an exclusive opportunity to get a glimpse into who I am as an artist, writer, and human being,” says Ober. “Though uncomfortably raw and vulnerable, I hope it will be a source of hope and light as I share some Windows of My Soul.”
Alongside her artwork, Ober enjoys working on websites and designing cards for her greeting card business, “Ober the Rainbow Greetings.” She also enjoys writing and is hoping to publish children’s books sometime in the near future.
Ober has served on the Hamilton County Artists’ Association board as President for the last two years, where she has helped organize local art events. She also loves to perform on stage at the Attic Theatre and coach local youth track and field clubs.
Ober’s full Windows of My Soul exhibit can be seen in the Stephenson House September 1-30, Wednesday through Friday from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. You can meet Ober during the September First Friday event from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the Stephenson House on the Noblesville Creates campus.
