We’ve decided to post all of our artist opportunities in one spot to make it easier for our network of creatives. Read on for call-outs and more, and be sure to read all the way through – we wouldn’t want you to miss an important deadline!
Noblesville Parks Seeks Artists for Carousel Restoration and Crosswalk Murals
The Noblesville Parks Department has issued RFQs for two unique projects. The first project is a restoration of the artwork on Forest Park’s historic carousel. This carousel is nearly 100 years old and needs a little bit of a facelift: the genre scenes and western imagery depicted around the carousel need touching up, and some sections of the carousel may need to be replaced. An artist with previous experience in restoration would be a perfect fit. The second project is to design and paint two crosswalks along the Forest Park walking trail. One or more artists will be selected to develop a design and then paint the crosswalks (with the help of volunteers). For more information, click on the project to see the RFQ:
Intergenerational Art Show at Carmel Senior Living
Want to put the “art” in “heart”? The folks at Carmel Senior Living have an opportunity for you! Their “Heart of Art Intergenerational Art Show” is an opportunity display and sell your artwork with 10% of proceeds benefitting the American Heart Association. Blackhawk Winery’s 2018 Wine Label Contest
Calling all wine-loving artists! Blackhawk Winery, our partner in the arts, is bringing their wine label design contest back for 2018 and they want to see your work! This year’s theme, “Love Letter to Indiana,” invites you to highlight what you love about our Hoosier state using your unique, artistic skills. Click here for more information. Free Accelerator for Indiana Creative Entrepreneurs!
The Indiana Arts Commission is introducing a new, free program for creative entrepreneurs. “On-Ramp” is an accelerator made up of three components: a course, a certificate, and one-on-one coaching. Free Workshop for Artists at Conner Prairie
Conner Prairie has recently partnered with Portal to the Public Network to offer free special training to artists. Their goal is to help art professionals develop the communication and public engagement skills needed to captivate an audience in public settings. This is a great, FREE opportunity for artists to advance their art careers! Interested artists will need to commit to three workshops: March 5, 7, and 9 from 9am – noon. Fairy House Architects Wanted!
Our Fairy House contest returns this spring! Fairyville’s population is BOOMING, and we need your help in housing all the fairies! We are looking for artists, individuals, organizations, and companies to build fairy houses to display along the Fairyville Trail. The walkable Trail will stretch from Noblesville Creates through parts of downtown Noblesville. These houses can celebrate Earth Day, represent your home or business, or your favorite local spot – be as creative as you’d like! Prizes will be awarded based on audience vote. Up to $500 in prizes will be awarded to the first, second, and third place winners, along with other Honerable Mention prizes. For more information, see our website posting.
Indiana University Bicentennial Medal Design
Calling all Hoosier designers! Indiana University has announced its Bicentennial Medal Design competition, and anyone can enter. Leave your mark on IU history by designing one half to this historic medical, which will be awarded to individuals who have broadened the reach of IU to people, audiences, and places around the world through personal, professional, artistic, or philanthropic efforts. Fishers Arts Council’s Art in City Hall Exhibit Season
The Fishers Arts Council is pleased to announce its 2018 Art in City Hall Exhibit Season. Each month, there will be a new exhibit of artwork reflecting a variety of topics relative to the City of Fishers and offered by the residents of Fishers and the surrounding metropolitan area. The exhibits are open to the general public during regular business hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. In addition to these hours, a reception is generally held for the participating artists at some point during the exhibit, usually from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. And, most artwork is available for purchase.
