HCCF Seeks Artists for an Installation

HCCF Seeks Artists for an Installation

Hamilton County Community Foundation (HCCF) seek an artist or artists to create artwork for installation in the new Collaboration Hub in Fishers. The Collaboration Hub has a central wall on which HCCF wants to hang three pieces of art that are 2.5’ x 5’ and celebrate the Community Foundation’s commitment to equity, inclusion, and growing opportunities for everyone. Artists may be selected for one or more of these pieces. This installation will be a key focal point for the Collaboration Hub, which will be used by not-for-profit organizations and businesses serving not-for-profits from all over Hamilton County and Central Indiana.

Sunday, June 20th at 11:59 p.m.

To be eligible to submit for this opportunity, artists must:

  • Be able to meet all of the project requirements (see below)
  • Be age 18 or over
  • Be willing to meet all contractual obligations and adhere to a strict budget and timeline
  • Carry personal liability insurance for the duration of the project (Noblesville Creates can provide a referral to an insurance provider if needed)

  • Providing the application information described below
  • Collaborating with HCCF staff to develop designs for the installation
  • Creating the artwork, including preparing for hanging and meeting the size and design requirements set forth by HCCF
  • Coordinating with HCCF staff for the installation of the artwork
  • If applicable, coordinate with artists working on other installation elements to create complementary designs and plan installation schedules

HCCF has set a budget of $3,000 for this project, or $1000 for each of the three pieces. This fee is to cover all of the artists’ compensation and anticipated expenses, including (but not limited to) design fees, construction materials, paints, installation hardware, sealant, other materials, production and labor. Payment will be made in two installments: 1/2 will be paid to the artist at the beginning of the project, with the remaining 1/2 to be paid upon completion of the project. Please note that these payments can take up to 30 days to arrive.

A not-for-profit gathering space for Central Indiana, the Collaboration Hub is currently open for private and personal meetings. The Collaboration Hub’s home, Hamilton County Community Foundation, is now scheduling meeting room rental appointments, including training sessions and programming for later this year.

Prior to the development of this space, there was no one central location in Hamilton County where not-for-profit organizations, civic groups, and business leaders come together in a neutral setting to achieve common goals. The Collaboration Hub allows these groups to come together, break down silos, and achieve outcomes like the creation and execution of a socially innovative eco-system, cross-sector collaboration, economic benefits, operational efficiencies, and implementation of key community leadership initiatives. Community foundations are at their best when working with donors, granting to not-for-profit organizations, and leading and convening in the community. HCCF’s unique role positions them well to manage the Collaboration Hub, and to partner with organizations who will provide trainings, collaborations, and cohorts.

The Grand Opening event for the Collaboration Hub is scheduled for August 19th, at which point membership organizations and businesses will begin meeting in the space regularly. It is estimated that in any given month dozens, if not hundreds, of local leaders and social influencers will visit the space.

Below is a series of images of the space.  The wall on which the artwork for this project will be installed is the blue wall seen below and in the left side of the first picture in the second row – it is a wall that can be seen from nearly every part of the Hub.

Artists must submit their qualifications to Jeena Siela (jeenas@cicf.org) by 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, June 20th, 2021. Representatives from HCCF and Noblesville Creates will review submitted qualifications and select up to 4 finalists to interview further.
