IAC’s Individual Advancement Program (IAP)

The Indiana Arts Commision’s Individual Advancement Program (formerly known as the Individual Artist Program) Grant provides support to artists in all disciplines for career development projects. Applicants may request a maximum of $2,000. Grantees must plan a project, or phase of project, which can be realized within the requested budget and completed within the proposed timeline. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and a legal resident of Indiana.

Important to note: the IAP funds different disciplines each cycle, and applications are only accepted in the disciplines following the schedule below. Folk arts and access applications will be paneled with the corresponding discipline in the corresponding year.

Odd Fiscal Years (Applications for these disciplines will open in December 2017)

  • Crafts
  • Design
  • Media Arts
  • Photography
  • Visual

Even Fiscal Years (Applications for these disciplines will open in December 2018)

  • Dance
  • Literary Arts
  • Music
  • Theatre
